Hey Everyone,

Just received and email today out of the blue that my visa was granted.

Last week, i just uploaded some extra documents and images of my child as i thought to myself that i havnt updated any documents since i applied for the 801 application might as well give it a shot and see what happens.

A week later the visa was granted.

I have been waiting patiently for over 12 months and thought that my visa would be granted sometime next year due to the processing times.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this forum and guiding everyone with the process.

Best of luck to everyone out here...

Congratulations THEN, Sheldonpk and to other who got 801 grants this month !

I am not sure how Department works with their caseload. Our case time line is:
820 applied : 3rd May 2016
820 Grant: 7 Dec 2017
801 lodged : 27th April 2018
801 Grant : Waiting..
I have seen lot of people getting in 6 - 12 months and some waiting from 24+ months. To relieve myself, I am assuming (based on the posts here) 801 applications lodged between March 2018 - August 2018 are getting majority of grants this month.

We are not in huge rush but we need the 801 permanent visa for employment purposes as employer is requesting it everyday from my wife. Have sent an enquiry 3 weeks ago but no response yet.

I was so scared to send them the inquiry before I sent it because I didn't want them to think I harass them but I am glad I did.
If you have time maybe wait for another week or two and send another one. Who knows it may come before that! All my fingers are crossed for you x

PS. my 820 was granted two weeks after the documents they asked were submitted. I felt like I was holding my breaths for two weeks then!
In the first enquiry, I gave them the date that he's flying back here to Australia and asked if they needed anything else from us, which I think is what prompted them to look at our files. They called my husband, then sent a reply to my first enquiry stating they needed the State PC. I uploaded it and sent another enquiry stating that we'd submitted it. That was 2 weeks ago. My son arrives next week. I'm wondering if they are just waiting until he arrives here in Australia, or if they just haven't bothered to have another look since uploading the PC. I know he doesn't have to be here for the grant of the 801...but I'm thinking that might be what they are waiting for...kind of like checking to see if what I stated to them was true. I'm going to wait until after he arrives to send another email. I don't want to flood them with enquiries.

Yes, it feels like we're holding our breath too! I feel crazy checking my email all the time. LOL But it's actually helping to see all the grants coming through. Gives me hope that ours will be coming soon.

Hey,

Hopefully you will get your grant by the end of this month or sometime next month.

Is this 23 months since initial lodgement? I initially lodge my 820/801 application in jan 2016 and my 801 in may 2018 until now still waiting...

Hi all,
I am seeking some advise from you guys now. I have been waiting 801for 21 months. Do you think I need to send immigration an enquiry? In that enquiry what should i say as it’s not more than 26 months which means I am still within the waiting period.

Thanks

Have you send the enquiry before?
I know it is still under quoted time of 26 months but it doesn't hurt to ask. As long as you ask politely and maybe say something like.. you just want to ensure you have submitted everything and if they want more documents.
Of course there is a chance they won't reply or only reply with generic email but there is also a chance of them opening up your application.

Hi there,

The processing time for 801 itself is 75% Of Visas Processed within 20 months and 90% Of Visas Processed 26 months.

*** Processing time for subclass 801 Partner (permanent) visa and 100 Partner (permanent) visa is from date of eligibility (2 years after the 820/801 or 309/100 application is lodged) to finalisation.***

Technically 820 processing time is different to 801

Hope this helps.

To get the right wording for an enquiry needs a bit more info.
When did you apply for the original 820 and where from?
Have you received any requests for extra information since uploading the extra 801 proofs?

Is there anything you are aware of that Immigration may need clarification on?
