Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well! It's coming up on 2 years since my husband and I applied for the 820 visa. We want to apply for 801 asap so my question is can you apply AND submit the application at 11 months?

Also how long are applications taking these days?

Thanks

You're eligible for the 801 two years after the combined 820/801 application date. You can submit Stage 2 no earlier than 23 months after the combined 820/801 application date which means one month prior to eligibility.

Hi everybody, i got the grant today, after so long my timeline as follows

820 lodged Apr 2015
820 granted Apr 2016
801 lodged May 2017
801 granted 16 May 2019

As we applied thru Agent so done uncountable follow ups with them, they almost scolded us as well we sent 3 enquiries (in Jan, Mar, early May 2019) from me and my husband both, get zero response apart from automatically generic emails.

Just sent updates (photos, bills, mortgage statement, car rego..) to agent on 14 May, and got grant today!!! Not sure if this last shot worked it out for us.

I assume enquiry alone might not be sufficient, together you would need to send them with current updates as well, as on-going relationship proof.

Such a great relief!!! Pheww, more than 4 years totally to get thru it all, might be because I’m flagged as high risk country citizen

Thank you so much everybody here for each and every piece of advice.

Wish everybody will have your grant very soon!!!

Hello everyone,
It’s been such a long time since I have posted. Pretty much played the waiting game.

Today the hubby got his grant notification after 27.5 months waiting.

We sent an enquire last week.
During the process we updated probably every 6 months.
We did not receive any phone calls, interviews or additional information emails.
We are so very happy and we wish you all the best in your journey

TIMELINE
820 applied FEB 2015
820 granted JULY 2016
801 applied FEB 2017
801 granted today MAY 16 2019

27.5 months as an american, married with kids? damn. how is that even possible? Congratulations, either way.

Did you use the enquiry form at any point to contact immigration, prior to a week ago, or did you just play the waiting game the whole time?

For the last 9 months or so we have constantly sat in the time line.
We made a few inquiries but were told that because we were in the time line we just had to be patient and wait.
Once we hit over this current timeline of 26 months we sent and inquiry straight away and got granted

Hi Everyone,
My wife got her Permanent Visa yesterday, two days after filling out the enquiry form and no further contact from the department. We uploaded some relationship updates prior to submitting the request. My friends wife got hers much earlier than ours even after they applied 6 months after us. The difference was they were notified by the department to apply for the 2nd stage and were told to do so in 28 days. Letting you all know if it helps anyone as the queuing for visa process is very haphazard when it's processed onshore.
Origin country: India
2nd stage eligible: 20th Dec 2017
Applied: 20th Jan 2018
Granted: 15th May 2019, 2 days after enquiry form submission.
