We have some of the paper work with us but like my stat dec hasn't been done yet and we can't get the 888 till we get back. Should we do the online application and then upload everything when we get back or upload what we have so far?
We submitted ours a couple of months after eligibility, and got the grant in an average time.

801 Eligibility: 14 May 2018
801 Applied: 4 Aug 2018 | 801 Granted: 20 Feb 2019 | (9.3 months from eligibility)

With some being processed very quickly, I would feel safer submitting everything at about the same time.

Submitting early or later doesn't seem to make much difference.

I submitted everything for a decision when I applied and every 4 weeks I’ve updated with new stuff. Honestly I’m adding too much but better safe than sorry! I would add everything to make a decision straight away even if you wait a few more days.

Most people from Melbourne seem to be sitting at around 9 months even high risk countries )) which is pretty awesome. That will mean when I finish my TAFE course I may be able to go straight to uni!
I didn't receive the reply like yours. Mine one was automatically generated which came through straight after I clicked sent inquiry.

The Melbourne Partner (Permanent) Processing Centre seems to do the most.

In 2017-18 Melbourne processed 24,480 permanent partner visas. Brisbane did 16,662, while Perth did 1,454 and Sydney 731. Dandenong did under 5.

For centres outside Australia; London did 1,402, Dubai did 598, Guangzhou did 485, with other centres doing less.

I also wanna sign up to uni for June 2020 as my tafe course finishes in April. But i dont feel like I can apply until i have my grant and dont want to get my hopes up

ooh well going to enjoy life and tafe until this comes through and hope for a quick grant

You're talking about another 12 months from now, I think there is a good chance you get it before then especially when you are from UK. This is based on other UK grants in this forum.

I hope so, i just wish they explained it to us more. Ild rather be told it will take 12 months, instead of anything up to 25 as i can then make plans. I wish we all went in a pile and the one added first got done first!

Do you think people from low risk countries like England/canada etc go into their own pile which is why theyre quicker or something?

Not sure anyone really knows, but it must be down to individuals, and maybe further checks they do. But even people from the same countries have very different times, eg:
801 Grant examples:

3.4 Months from Canada. Granted: 29/05/19
7.3 Months from Canada. Granted: 11/06/19

9.5 Months from India. Granted: 16/01/19
22.4 Months from India. Granted: 11/01/19

10.6 Months from Philippines. Granted: 11/05/19
22.2 Months from Philippines. Granted: 04/05/19

4.0 Months from UK. Granted: 29/04/19
10.2 Months from UK. Granted: 02/04/19

Yeah I’ve seen that. It must be how they’re sent out to each processing centre and how they do their checks. I imagine the checks require our home countries to respond so countries like the uk and Canada will get a faster response.

I don’t really understand much as to why people from high risk countries take longer. Evidence is evidence. If there’s enough they deserve to be granted all the same.

It is what it is I suppose! At least it keeps up safer I guess 🙂

I logged in my account today and noticed estimated processing time is now showing 22 to 26 months. It was 19-22 months couple of days ago.
