21 months . That's a long time. I'm sure they had doubt about your relationship that's why they opted for an interview

Hi Mish,

I have uploaded everything that I can think of, the only thing missing is the new police check.

Would you do it now, or should I wait to be asked to do it so that we don't have to pay twice? For the 820 we just went ahead and did it but unsure how long we have to wait for the 801?

Thank you for any help you can offer. TIA

It is up to you but I have heard that they check the applications early on for mandatory documents so you will probably have to do it early on anyway. DIBP do have some discretion in regards to the police checks anyway from what I was told.

They will ask about the relationship etc. So things like do you go on holidays together, what you do in your spare time, have you met each others family. If you don't have a joint bank account they may ask why. It will be alot around the relationship.

How long was the interview? If it was a short one (5 minutes or so) then usually there isn't a problem but if it was a long interview then it means that the case officer is having concerns about the relationship.

If you are looking for a migration to hurry up the process then you are out of luck as they can't hurry them up either (if they could we would all use migration agents).

Hopefully the wait shouldn't be too much longer, we have seen a few around the 20-22 months approved lately.
Thank you so much , Mish.
the interviews was about 5 mins, it should happend in Dec last year but by that time my partner's phone was broken and not using that number for a while, I guess tried to call us but somehow we missed it, then first interview was late Feb, and following one was another short one for few extra questions, we surprised she not made decision so we called her back two times but she always say no decision been made and too many case in front so we have to wait and be patient.
I need to ask a experienced partner visa agent to see what should I do next, its not fair for this unlimited waiting... could you tell me who is good agent here so I can contact with them? im new here dont know very much
thank you so much!

The agents are: CCMS, MarkNortham, WRussell, JeremyHooper.

You could try lodging a complaint through immigration and see what they say. If you do lodge one and they say they need x days to investigate it make sure you give them x days before lodging a further complaint. Just be prepared they may not do anything because you haven't been waiting over 20 months.

Hi mish and All,

just in that interview, I was interviewed too but the difference is my husband who is the sponsor did not even got a call from Immi to verify what I had said in my interview. Joint bank account and Tax Returns is a must to send especially if you are working. i was so talkative that I felt Immi officer shortens some questions. better to answer the questions straight forward then I got my grant fews days after Immi got my uodated documents via post as I applied not online. Almost two days before I reach 20 months when I got my grant. i also had emails in the past that I have to wait 20 months as this is their global processing time and so I waited.
