Also my wife had her medical exam about February 2018, and it's currently saying this hasn't been accessed??? Is that because they haven't even looked at her case and this all gets down at the very end immediately before approval? She is from the USA.
You said before that you applied for the 820 in June 2016, so the 801 only began in June 2018, so only 13 months so far. What did you submit in Oct 2017?

The medical would have been for the 820, which you said has been granted, so it must have been finalised before the grant.

It sounds very confusing. Did I get those dates of yours right?

Well I'm more confused! Given it's so long ago, it's hard to remember. But obviously the 820 was granted, so if the medical is in the first stage, why does it say it is yet to be accessed'? Mind you there are also a few error messages at IMMI (on logging in), errors that have existed since at least March when I last logged in to check apart from today. I mean seriously, they haven't fixed errors on their website in 4 months?

The IMMI site could be better.. No question on that score.

I think this is your timeline:
Jun 2016 820 Applied
Jul 2017 820 Granted (13 Months to 820 grant)
Jun 2018 801 Eligibility
Aug 2018 801 Submitted
(13 Months waiting for 801 so far)

In June 2019, 75% of the 801 visas were processed in under 22 months, from 801 eligibility date..
Some examples of actual June 2019, Subclass 801 Grants, in that 75% figure:
  • Granted after 2.7 months, from Spain
  • Granted after 4.1 months, from UK
  • Granted after 7 months, from Vietnam
  • Granted after 7.3 months, from Canada
  • Granted after 7.9 months, from UK
  • Granted after 10.7 months, from Philippines
  • Granted after 11.3 months, from Philippines
  • Granted after 12.1 months, from Ireland
  • Granted after 12.7 months, from Germany
  • Granted after 14.7 months, from Vietnam
  • Granted after 17.3 months, from ?

I have seen 9 Onshore Partner visa applications beginning in June 2016, with the 820 application, and 6 of these have been granted so far, during April to June 2019. These were all between 10 and 12 months processing time for the 801. Yours is one of the 3 not shown as being finalised yet.

What country are you from?

Please update your flag here .

Dear all,

I hope someone can help me.

I applied for onshore partner visa 820 nearly 2 years ago, I received my BVA and then I changed it to BVB to leave the country.

While out of the country I found employment and was outside Australia when my BVB expired.

My application is still pending and have a new employment opportunity back in Australia.

My understanding is that BVA/B can only be issued while in australia. My question is do I have to go back to Australia on an evisa again and then apply for BVA? Sitting out 3 months for the the evisa to expire for the the BVA to take in affect as before?

How do you apply for BVA once in australia, I don’t see this visa option on the ImmiAcount?

I be grateful if anyone have any advise to share on this matter.

Thank you

Hello Everyone!

Before introducing my situation I would just like to thank each one of you as this group has been a great emotional support for us.

My timeline is:

820/801 application date: 13/04/2016

820 Grant date: 5/04/2017

801 application date: 17/04/2018

801 Grant date: still waiting

My partner Justin and I have applied for a combined partner visa application with the help of a Migration Agent. During the past year (after the 801 application), he has been kind of weird, not replying to my emails and he did not provide us with proofs that he actually submitted all the documents that I was emailing to him.

After several annoying episodes we have decided to withdraw his appointment to act on my behalf and what I have found out was even weirder.

He has submitted (by the 7th of June 2019 - 14 months after we have applied) just 30 documents or less not including the following:

- Justin's passport

- ID documents from the people who have written the 888 declaration forms

- New updated address

- De Facto relationship registration

- Form 80

- Some of our holiday tickets

I have added all the missing documents (total up today 80) on June 2019, and I have called the DIBP on June 2019 as I was shocked and the call center helped me a lot, so I have completed the electronic communication form and I have been able to email the department (VIC - processing center). I have updated them and asked to check if something was missing, explaining kind of our situation and the reply was that I have submitted the evidence and that no case officer was assigned. Great. One month after I have realized that the RMA has written on my application that I have been 1 month in Thailand (I have never been there in my whole life), so I have updated the field "giving wrong information" explaining the situation again.

In the application's home page I see "received" as a status and the last update is on the 7th June 2019, even if I have added other documents later on.

Will someone ever look at my application? I think that because of this incompetent RMA all our process has been delayed and we are really stressed and confused. Do you guys have any advice? I am from Italy and my partner is a dual citizen by birth (Australian and Italian) so low-risk Country.

We applied 801 visa on 27/04/2018, still waiting for grant... I am expecting some sort of contact from them in next 3 months.

Who else lodged 801 between 01/01/2018 - 30/04/2018 and still waiting for 801 grant ?

Yeah, that's annoying, I suppose my situation is even worse as my migration agent just delayed the whole process with no reason. What makes me upset is that all the people we know from Europe as I am, are getting their 801 in less than 12 months. I think I kind of "lost the spot" for this upcoming months... Where are you from @tanparm88 ?

I have seen people getting 801 visas in 2 - 16 months with average of 12 months. So hopefully we will get some sort of CO contact by Sep/Oct.
