My mortgage broker confirmed that I have to have my permanent visa before he can submit my financing, or it'll just get rejected. Some other issues mean that my husband can't be on the mortgage application. So...I'm kind of in limbo and worried that we won't get our house. I'm thinking I'll send another enquiry once the agent gets the offer documents to me. I'll be happy to get the grant at the 12 month mark...just makes it scary that the visa is the only thing holding us up from buying the house we want to get. Sigh. Otherwise, how is everyone else doing?? <img src="http://www.australiaforum.com/images/smilies/redface.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Embarrassment" class="inlineimg" />

I just bought a house with my partner, under the 820 visa - all you have to do is get your solicitor to fill out a stat dec and a few other documents so you don’t pay double Stamp Duty, but the 820 is under the list of exemptions for foreign stamp duty.

Got my loan with CBA and they didn’t question my visa (much), so it shouldn’t hold you back on getting your home!

Long time stalker first time poster. Idk why I obsessively read this thread, I guess it comforts me reading about other people in the same position?

Anyway, my partner is the one waiting for his 801, and we’re also trying to buy a house! He’s the primary income earner (I’m a PhD student on a scholarship making <30k, not enough to support a mortgage on my own)
Im not sure on your situation or if you’ll know but it was my understanding that unless the sponsor was the primary income earner they won’t give you the loan? Like they almost discount entirely the income of the applicant?
Dunno what your situation is or if you’d have any idea about this but thought it was worth asking. Did they basically discount your income when working out how much you could borrow or was it just all treated like normal?

We’re hoping his visa comes through soon, we applied end of October and I also obsessively stalked the google sheet at some point and the last 3 visas listed were under 11 months with an average of about 12 overall so fingers crossed &#x1f91e;&#x1f3fc;&#x1f91e;&#x1f3fc;

Thanks

Another couple awaiting our PR..sigh
My partner is from the UK, we applied 1st May 2019. 820 went through smoothly, no bumps.

No, there are some other issues that are keeping him from being on the loan as well. If he could be on it, then we wouldn't have a problem at all. But, as we have to do it in my name alone, we have to have the visa. So, for you, since you are both going for a loan, there shouldn't be an issue for you both.

You and I are pretty close with our visa lodgements. I lodged mine a month early, so I'm coming up on 12 months since I submitted everything, but 11 months since eligibility. Really hoping for a grant in the next month though. Here's hoping we start seeing some more grants come through!

Huh ok thanks for that, we were talking to a broker in the expectation of arriving soon and I didn’t believe him when he said it wasn’t an issue cause my previous research indicated it was but have since done more and found otherwise.
Very happy about this, guess I can go back to not caring when it comes through cause It’ll arrive when it arrives and if it’s not stopping me buying a place I don’t care. Though I guess the peace of mind would be nice but we’re not really worried about it.
Hopefully yours comes soon!

Stage 2 Sponsor details

Hi guys, just wondering after submitting the "Stage 2 - Permanent Partner Visa Assessment (100,801)" application for my wife, which generated a new reference number. Would we need to submit a new "Sponsorship for a Partner to Migrate to Australia (300,309/100,820/801)" application again?

Or we can just upload the sponsor's details in the "Stage 2 - Permanent Partner Visa Assessment (100,801)" application?

Thank you.

I’m not entirely sure what this means but I think you’re asking do you need to link it to the sponsors IMMI account by submitting another application as you did for the temporary visa?
No, we haven’t even linked my account and just upload everything under my partners account. Only thing you need from the sponsor for stage 2 is a stat dec.
Honestly I didn’t even notice it generated a new reference number.
If you do want it linked to your account for any reason I’ve seen an ‘import application’ button that I assume just wants a reference number.

I've just found a recent case where someone lodged their 801 PAPER application in Queensland and got approved within 3 weeks. I thought paper applications for all partner visas are no longer valid, no?
