The fastest 801 grant, that I have seen, was 24 days after 801 eligibility date.

820 applied: 31 July 2017
801 applied: 31 July 2019
801 granted: 24 August 2019

Someone I know got his 820/801 granted at the same time. He applied for 820 in November 2017 and had been waiting for a long time. He a ent a few enquires. And last week he got both 820 and 801. He’s wasn’t even eligible for 801 yet.[/QUOTE]

Were there children involved? And if so were they Australian citizens?

No number was shown at all. He usually doesn't answer unknown numbers, for the same reasons you block strange ones. But, he had a call from Immi back in April, so knew to just answer. Both times that they called, they asked him the same thing "Is the relationship still ongoing?" Only the 2nd time they called, they did grant the visa that day.

Thank you for all the congratulations! And congratulations to all those getting their grants, as well. Looks like they are steadily clearing the visas applied for up to October 2018 at this point. That's hopeful. At least there's movement.

I have no reason to ask for a fast grant - no kids no compelling reason.
I asked something about travelling on 820 visa - actually I know the answer just sent the enquires to bring the attention. I didn't expect a reply.
