June 2016 - 820 approved
July 2018 - 801 submitted (now Stage 2 under assessment)

When did you actually apply for your 820? Your two posts show some confusion on dates.

If you applied in July 2016, then the 801 eligibility date would be July 2018. 17 months from that date would be December 2019, so you are still within the 17 months.
However, you also say the 820 was approved in June 2016 ?

With the 801 submission, did you upload everything required, including the sponsor declaration?

And the immi website doesn't specify clearly either...
The Immi Website states:

Processing time for subclass 801 Partner (permanent) visa and 100 Partner (permanent) visa is from date of eligibility (2 years after the 820/801 or 309/100 application is lodged) to finalisation.

and

We start assessing you for the permanent visa 2 years after you lodged your visa application. You can send the documents no more than a month before the 2 years date. Do not send them before this time.

Please update your flag here .

My work college received case office letter for more documents just after she applied 801. and about 1 months later, she got her PR she is very lucky, she did 820 and 801 by herself and total processing time for get PR just about 24 months. 17-24 month is for most people, but not everyone, someone quick, who upload as many as documents before eligible 801.

Sorry for confusing JandE
I had my visa 820 approved in June 2016.
Then I applied or submitted for visa 801 in July 2018 which is now on Second Stage.
So I now assume it is 17 months from July 2018 (whew) you've made my day JandE
Yes, we have uploaded everything as requested including my husband as an authorised sponser.
CO have asked for Police Clearance again this month in which we have uploaded last year (submitted for 801), so we uploaded the latest ones today.

I thought it would be wise to update (upload photos, travels, etc) every two months as the others have done.

Those dates puzzle me. I thought you had to be married to do the 820 application, when coming from a PMV 300.

However, your 801 eligibility date would be April 2018, (820 application date + 24 months) according to your dates, so you have been waiting for 18 months already.

We applied for the 820 in May 2016, from the PMV, a month after we got married.

If I was you I would be checking with them to see if there is any problem, or if something is missing from the 801 application.
