However, your 801 eligibility date would be April 2018, (820 application date + 24 months) according to your dates, so you have been waiting for 18 months already.

We applied for the 820 in May 2016, from the PMV, a month after we got married.

If I was you I would be checking with them to see if there is any problem, or if something is missing from the 801 application.
Thanks for getting back to me JandE and wow, we both almost got married at the same time.
Wouldn't it be ok to wait 24 months as they advised? (17 - 24 months)
Also how would I be checking with them without knowing their email address?
Thanks in advance

What date did you get married?

Use the Partner (Permanent) Processing Centres Enquiry Form
https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help...s-enquiry-form
But make sure you ask the relevant question(s).

75% of 801's granted in August were done in under 17 months, many around 12 months. Ours was finalised in February, 9.4 months after eligibility.

We saw something that made us see that they needed something, but we were not sure what. I did an enquiry to ask them, using the above form.
We got the 801 grant a few weeks later. ie: 33.4 months after the 820 application was made.

I think you need to ask what they are actually needing, from what you have written.

Thank you for the link JandE and we got married on 15 May 2016.
You must be very lucky to be permanent sooner
I just found out that my husband submitted the 801 visa on June 2018 so it is now 17 months since.
I am not sure what we can say in the Enquiry Form without offending them and we are worried that we might spoil my application if we demand the answer
As ImmiAccount stated that it is 17 - 24 months estimated processing time (attached below), I thought is is normal to wait until 24 months is up. Or is it a better chance to contact them and ask what we are missing?
Thanks in advance.

Hello! Friends
I am looking for some clarification. I just got approved my 820 after waiting (2 months). I am coming from a PMV300. Now, what is not clear to me is the next step: Do I need to apply for 801 only 2 years after the date I apply for 820 or when is that I should apply for 801? Thanks

Hi guys. I've just got a question. I received an email a month ago asking for more statements or evidence documents as well as national police certificate. 8 days later, I was able to provide all these as requested but I heard nothing since then. Is it advisable to upload more documents into my immi account because I'm getting even more desperate now as there are so many things on hold, waiting for my 801. Please advise. Cheers!

My only personal experience was a request for police checks and health exams at 820 stage. Not two weeks after had the visa been granted.

You’ve mentioned they requested statements and police checks and other evidence documents. Without knowing what other evidence they’ve requested and what you’ve already lodged I think it might be hard for anyone to advise. I guess you don’t want to flood your application with uploads that are unnecessary just in the hope of getting the grant faster

It is normal to not hear anything until the visa grant, if you have uploaded everything they need.

We uploaded more relationship proofs, during the wait after lodging the 801. Photos of trips together etc.

Our 801 took 9.4 months from eligibility date. S Some are faster, some take longer.

They have requested from us some documents as well on 9th Oct. We submitted everything on 14th Oct. I believe it takes 2 - 6 weeks on average to hear back from them again. Sometimes longer if the case is complex but Immigration timeframes are mystery, no one can tell you definite answer. Just hang in there..... good news must be on its way !
