Hello mates,

After I received standard compliant feedback fro DIBP, and waited for 4 more weeks to see if they do anything, I decided to submit compalaint to the Commonwealth Ombudsman 2 days ago. Today I received the following response from them.
"
Thank you for your complaint of 12 June 2017 about the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) and the delay in processing of your subclass 100 Partner visa application.

I have considered your complaint and have decided to refer it on for further assessment. Someone from our office will be in contact with you in due course"

What do you think "refer on for further assesment means" in this case?

Hassan

Hi All,
so today they have updated the Global visa and citizenship processing times
https://www.border.gov.au/about/acce...ocessing-times

the 801 Partner now is between 16 Months and 21 Months
it has been almost two years since they have started talking about the backlog and it's keep getting worse and worse
does anyone have any idea what's going on with the family visa stream?

Only 15% of those visa applications will take between 16 Months and 21 Months.

It actually says:
75% of the 801 Visas will be done in under 16 months
Another 15% may take between 16 Months and 21 Months
The final 10% may take over 21 months.

So, the majority, 75%, could be just a few months, up to maximum of 16 months. Who knows what it averages, but it seems like it might be around 1 year.

I think they keep moving the goalposts so they can stop people asking... how long now...

It means that they will allocate it to a case officer to look at. They will give 21 days for DIBP to respond.

Very lucky as it seems alot are being told they will not be investigated at the moment.

Thanks Mish. I hear several pple told that they will not investigate. I was not sure if it is going ahead. Thinking the next level in Ombudsman may reject and decide no to investigate.

Will update you as soon as I hear from them or DIBP.

I am not sure at what stage people get told they will not investigate because it is within service standards. For us, when I lodged the complaint on behalf of my husband, I got asked for the response from DIBP and then after that they said it was being referred to an investigator officer. The investigator officer then emailed and said that they have contacted DIBP and given them 21 days to respond and he would provide a response to me within 28 days.

The ombudsman emailed me on the Monday and it was granted on the Wednesday afternoon.
