Hello to all! This is my first post, how exciting! I have received the standard email to commence posting documents and my eligibility date is the 15th Nov. I will keep the forum updated with my progress and happy to help any questions where I can.

My 1st inquiry - we have a trip planned in January 2020. A 2 week holiday to Canada to visit my family. Tickets paid for and I’m using it as evidence. Unfortunately, her work suddenly won’t approve the leave after the holidays and she won’t be coming....
I still plan to use the evidence however should I tell immigration In January before we go she is not coming or not mention it?

I don’t know if I am more concerned about telling them she is not coming or if they will check our travel through our passports and ask why we didn’t inform them.

Thanks for any advice 🙂

I advise not to use it as evidence at all. If you are not going together it's more of a minus than a plus.
They don't need to look at passports, departures and entries to the country are recorded immediately.
But do advise them of your quick trip to visit family prior to leaving.

I'd say it's time to send an enquiry to ask if they've received everything and to see if they need anything else to finish processing your 801. Especially since you've been waiting since February after an RFI.

First post. Will try to keep you posted.

My situ:
British citizen - 27 years old
Australian partner - 26 years old
Lodged onshore.

Lodged application 29/12/2017
Bridging visa granted 30/12/2017

I’ve had a number of bridging visa B’s to temporarily leave for holidays (3 I think)

Date of this post - 6 November 2019.
Meaning I am 23 months into my application and still on a bridging visa.
No 820 yet!

I suspect I’ll get an 820 in the next month or so and will be eligible for PR next month (24 months into application)

Anyone any idea how much longer I should expect to wait?

The 801 processing times say 20-27 months. Does that mean potentially another 27 months once I get 820? That seems crazy? That would be over 4 years from the point of application.

The processing times of 20-27 months means that 75% were processed in 20 months or less, and 10% took over 27 months.

The recent 820 grant times for UK applicants, on this forum, has been between 5 and 16 months.

The average 801 grant for UK applicants recently has been around 11-12 months, from 801 eligibility. (Your eligibility being 29/12/2019)

Processing time for subclass 801 visa is from date of eligibility, ie: 2 years after the 820 application is lodged.

However, some applicants. who are eligible to go direct to the 801, have taken 16 to 20 months to get the 820, BUT, followed by the 801 a few minutes later.

If your 820 wait goes beyond 24 months, you may well get the 801 at the same time as the 820, ending up being faster to the 801 than most other people, on normal processing times.

Hi everyone,

Ive got a question would really appreciate if someone can help or was in a similar situation

We Lodged our 820 partner visa in June 2018 and my partner was asked to do a police check from the sponsorship team in December 2018 which we uploaded straight away. It has been 17 months since we lodged our partner visa and have not heard from them since then. Is anyone in a similar situation?.. is this usually normal?. I have still not been granted an 820 visa yet. Has anyone been contacted by this team previously?

Thanks

Our history:
Stage 1
20 Jun 2017 - Applied for 820
12 Oct 2017 - Received request for more information including health checks
6 Dec 2017 - Submitted all required information
12 Dec 2017 - Granted 820

Stage 2
20 May 2019 - Received notification of eligibility for 801
24 June 2019 - Submitted application for 801 including all documents

As many have noted, the document categories didn't come up as they have for 820 application. So I uploaded everything into Other Documents and label them accordingly to reflect the 4 main categories. See attached images for ideas.

Also my application went on to "Further Assessment" status within a few hours of submitting the application.

Congratulations on your 820. 6-7 months of approval is a feat!
