If the 801 isn't automatically given, you need to do the full 2nd stage application at the relevant time.

We did the 801 application a few weeks after eligibility and continued to upload things for some months after that date. Showing continuing relationship proof until the 801 was granted.

You need to start the 2nd stage application, the 801, now.

We are told that visa processing is getting longer all the time.

But not for everyone..

Three 801's from France on this forum, with total processing time from first visa (820) to 801 grant:
Dec 2015 - 29.1 months from 820 Application. Sabrina25 from France.
Jan 2017 - 33.6 months from 820 Application. jacob from France.
Nov 2019 - 25.8 months from 820 Application. Lolo Patate from France.

Will you have been in Australia for 4 years by 9/11/2020? If so, you can apply for Citizenship on 9/11/2020.

Otherwise it would generally be the date 4 years after arriving and holding valid visas, after 9/11/2020 for you.

To satisfy the residence requirements:

You MUST have been living in Australia on a valid Australian visa for the four years immediately before applying.
You MUST have been a permanent resident visa holder for at least the last 12 months, before applying.
You MUST NOT have been absent from Australia for more than one year in total, in the last 4 years.
You MUST NOT have been absent from Australia for more than 90 days in the year immediately before applying.

Congratulations did you get the email for the 801 after you applied for it or did you get it straight away?.

I'm also from France - I applied for 820 on Aug 2017 and got it Sep 2018, now waiting for 801. No children. I guess they really don't do it in the right order as some have been getting it before me but applied after with similar documentation and proof.

Fingers crossed I'll be soon! (Been in Australia for 12.5 years).
