Thank you Mish for the insight.

I have attached the response from DIBP and sent to OMBUDSMAN in advance so that they dont ask for it. And the first email from them was the one I posted.

Lets see what happens.

Will update you as soon as I hear from them or DIBP.
I also made a complaint to the Ombudsman last week and they called me back saying they would start an investigation. I should hear back within 10 days. Fingers crossed, seems like they are not just rejecting peoples complaints.

I wonder what their criteria is. I would be interested to know why some are being investigated and others not. Maybe it has something to do with how they are written??

Very true because mine got rejected from Ombudsman

They can't reject complaints based on how they are written

I would think that they can if it doesn't satisfy the criteria for a complaint as in there are specific a couple of things that the ombudsman doesn't investigate so if the complaint was about that then I would think that they would not investigate it.

Update

Hi all,

I was hoping to pick your brains, I recently rang immi regarding my 801 application which has been in 10 months to see what the new waiting times meant and at first the operator couldn't give me much information but then she told me to hold and she would check something. She then came back and said my application had moved from the "waiting queue" to the Victoria processing centre..does anyone know what that means? my status hasn't changed on the online portal it still says "received"

Thanks in advance all

Floki

It doesn't mean much at all just means it is processing. Wait times were updated yesterday ... I believe someone posted them try 1 or 2 pages back.

Thanks Mish, I suppose its better that it has been put to a processing centre as opposed to sitting in the never never

They are all in processing centres so unfortunately what they told you doesn't mean alot.

An update.

Hello friends, as per my earlier posting in regards to Ombudsman complaint I made, i received another email fron the office of Ombudsman and they decided not to investigate further as my application processing still is within the global processing timeframe. They even quoted the DIBP webiste's breakdown of processings

So our fate remains within the hands of DIBP and our role is just to sit back and wait. For those who may want to complain, please be advised that they are not investigating every case.

Hassan
