However, you need to be onshore once you lodge your 801 visa and also be onshore at the grant date. It is a possibility that the case officer may notice your time away from australia and may lead to further scrutiny down the track.
That's not correct. There is no requirement to be onshore for either the application or the grant

820 lodged on 29th Jun 2017
820 approved on 01st Nov 2018

801 lodge on 05th Jul 2019
801 Approved on 01st Nov 2019

Hope it helps

820 : (Form 80 provided when lodge the visa)

Married two months, move together more than one year.

1.Requested Sponsor's police check (Eventhrough I have already uploaded)
2.Bupa medical check

801:
Married two year and 1 child

No phones or any contact from Immi office

And after lodge 801, it shows further assessment straight away (I think it may because the second stage of this visa) and then Approved

(Police check was expired but they didnt ask to upload a new one)

Congratulations, at last.

That's a long time from a PMV, what was the PMV timeline?

Currently in month 25 of waiting and have not received an 820 or 801 visa yet. My IMMI application status is currently 'application received'

I've heard that once people exceed 24 months of waiting without an 820 grant, it is likely that they will get the 820 and 801 granted together.

Has this happened to anyone recently, and if so, how long did you wait to get both approved at the same time?
FYI check my updated - mine went through today for 820 and 801!! Surely yours will work out too!! All the best!

I suppose, in the scheme of things, even though your 820 took a really long time, your total time from PMV application to 801 grant (at 37. 4 months) was faster than most..

Our grants were reasonably fast, (820 took 3 months) but it still took 44 months in total from PMV application to 801 grant.
Most of the others (PMV to 801) last year, have been between 45 and 63 months.

You got lucky not having to await for the 801 processing..
