Hi Dooda,

Congratulations!!

You were eligible to apply for the 801 in Feb 2019 but you only applied in Dec 2019. I noticed the 10 month gap in between. Was there any reason you waited 10 months before applying for the 801?

I also noticed you got your 801 approved in just under 2 months. Do you think the 10 months you waited before applying for the 801 somehow speeded up the approval for the 801?

Your thoughts and feedback would be much appreciated!
Thank you in advance.

Congratulations.

The 801 processing time was actually 11.3 months as they take it from eligibility date, not actual date we upload.

It does go to show that uploading early, has little advantage to uploading late..

Your 820 Application to PR actually took 35.3 months.

Thanks jeanross, I was busy working 2 jobs and had no time. Knowing the processing time, there was no hurry. I thought it would take 12 months or so like my 820, so I said I'll just apply later. 🙂

Thanks JandE, i forgot the 12 months waiting for eligibility. Cheers

Thanks for the feedback Dooda (and thanks for the input JandE).

Can I ask a question?
When you submitted your 801, what period of evidence did you upload? did you upload 2 years of evidence from Feb 2017 to Feb 2019 (your 801 eligibility date) or did you upload 2 years 10 months of evidence from Feb 2017 to Dec 2019 (actual submission date)?

I'm asking because like you I'm past my eligibility date but a couple of pressing things have kept me busy. It will probably be at least another month before I can submit (making it 4 months past my eligibility date). I'm just wondering if I should include evidence that is 4 months past my eligibility date or just the 2 years up to eligibility date.

Your evidence should cover the period between your 820 approval and 801 eligibility date. However I think there is no harm in uploading evidence past your eligibility date. It doesn’t hurt to be proactive and just shows the case officer that you continue to be together. I think In the end they will care less about the actual dates and more about the solidity of your relationship evidence. So if you continued to use a shared Bank account or took a trip or anything the like after the eligibility date then I would just upload the evidence. It also means your case officer is less likely to ask for further evidence once your case is being processed hence reducing the likelihood of your application being unnecessarily delayed. Hope this helps... 🙂

We kept uploading proofs after the eligibility date. It adds to the proof that they need. That should make it easier for them to see a real relationship.

Upload everything up to the date you upload, and then add more if there is something to add while waiting. A holiday, trip overseas, etc.
