May be the Dept is waiting for our 4 year wedding anniversary in March 2020.
But in those 75% under 20 or 24 months, you get these 820 grant examples, from Sept/Oct 2018 applications.
Sept 2019 820 Finalised after 11.2 months, from Philippines
Oct 2019 820 Finalised after 14.8 months, from Philippines

Could be worth sending an enquiry, or a request to check, due to your long relationship and the fact that others have been granted faster.

We applied June 2019 and haven't heard anything... and from a low risk country. We're hoping it's soon (fingers crossed)

Same here. Applied in June 2019 and status has been further assessment ever since. No contact at all so far. Also from low risk country.

Hi all,

I am one of the many May 2019 folks who has received an 801 grant recently. My partner and I were in a de facto relationship when we applied for the 820, and married when we applied for the 801. We're a same-sex couple and I'm from the United States.

My timeline was:

May 17, 2017: apply for the 820 visa
April 2018: more information requested and given
August 28, 2018: 820 visa grant
May 17, 2019: apply for the 801 visa
Feb 22, 2020: 801 visa grant

We didn't receive any contact from a CO before the 801 grant.

I hope this is helpful and that those with similar application dates hear back from immigration soon.

Hi guys!
Here is my timeline
applied for 309 in October 2016
granted 309 February 2017
Applied for 100/801 in October 2018
Contacted department in October 2019 - was asked to send further information. (most of which was already there like police checks and statuary declarations by witnesses)
attached further information.
application went from "received" to "further assessment"

Still waiting for the grant

It's been 16 months now.
New time frame estimates on Immi says 17 months to 31 months.

In my case we bought a house under my husband's name only, It's our first home, and we saved on stamp duty.
We are ready to buy our second home and we wanted to do it under my name, to save on stamp duty again, but no broker wants to do our loan application even though we have 20% saved, because I am still on a temporary visa.

Latest 801 times are:
Jan 2020: 12-20 = 75% took up to 12 months. 10% took over 20 months.
