Thanks for your response. I'm an Indian.

I filed 820 on 1st March 2018 and was granted the visa on 24th October 2019. While the 801 application was filed on 2nd March 2020.

Not sure with Covid 19 circulating around, if it'd would drag the processing time even more ?
I feel that immigration staff have more time for onshore visas at the moment.

The average processing time for the March 801 grants, that I have seen, was 7.6 months.
In April so far I am seeing 7.4 months average.
In February it was 8.6 months.

If they needed to check your home nation, due to travel since the 820, that might delay things though.

Hi all..
I would like to ask a question.
After submitting the form, we just start upload all the attachment as evidence right ?
I mean, before submit the form, we are not able to attach any file ?
Because I am quite confusing. And in the attachment, It do not say anything regarding form 888. So where should we attach the form 888 ? Is that on social aspect ?

I am afraid I make it wrong. Since it seem you can attach the evidence of relationship / document even before you submit the form (that contain 22 pages).

So I am guessing there is no method to this madness that is processing?

We applied for 820 in November 2017, granted in December 2018. Applied for 801 in November 2019 and still nothing.

A good friend of ours applied for 820 in February 2018 and was granted in November 2018. They applied for 801 in January 2020 and we granted yesterday (April 2020).

Our partners are from the same country (indonesia). We live in the same state (WA). What can be the difference?
Surely there is no queue for processing. Super frustrating.

Each case is different and sometimes Immigration looks at a lot of factors before making decisions. A friend( same nationality) who applied a year before I applied and who was in a relationship for 3 more years than me got his 820/801at the 28 month mark. No contact except for health exams and police check. My 820 on the other hand was granted in 7 months from the date of application. I'm 2 months from the 24 month mark to apply for 801.

Hi everyone just a Quick Question. We are not due to submit the 801 until mid june. Is it too early for us to submit the application now? I saw someone posting that we are allowed to post it a month before.

thanks heaps

They do say you can begin a month before, so mid May for you.

However, unlikely to be looked at until the effective date.
