Complaint submitted and we got an email within 48hrs saying we are still within the processing window for the 820/801.... when we loaded back in early Feb 2018 the window was 19-26months. Now it’s 26-31months. Does that mean as the processing times get longer so does an application lodged 2years ago get delayed?

The processing times that they quote, are the actual times for the month before. So, at the end of Feb 2018, when you applied for the 820, the processing time would have been 19-26 (ie: 75% completed in under 19 months and 10% taking over 26 months), for grants finalised in January 2018. (ie, these times applied for applications around Feb 2016)

With more applications, and other factors, delays occur, and the actual processing times for grants change. In February 2020 the actual times were: 26-31 = 75% took up to 26 months. 10% took over 31 months.

The 801's were 11-22 = 75% took up to 11 months. 10% took over 22 months.

Has your 820 been finalised yet?

Not yet, we completed a RFI request in November 2019 and our agent adds the info we send each month. It’s so confusing, frustrating and stressful

This thread might be confusing too, as it is for those who are waiting for the 801, after getting the 820 grant.
The processing times quoted, and the methods to chase up, together with lodging requirements, can be very different.

The stress can be enormous. But we forget it after we get the grants..

The 820 waiting group might be more relevant https://www.australiaforum.com/visas...g-list-22.html

Hope the wait isn't too much longer.

I just wanted to add our information to the group even though I wasn't posting previously.

Visa 820 and 801 were granted this morning! After almost 28 months since application, and 3+ years since initial PMV application.

This is after using the complaint form as advised in this thread, and then submitting the further documentation they finally asked for (submitted docs this morning, granted 2 hours later)

I can't believe it's finally over.

Low risk - German

Timeline -

Prospective Marriage Visa applied 12/2016 (applied Berlin embassy)
PMV Granted 04/2017
820/801 application - 01/2018 (onshore in sydney)
820/801 granted - 04/2020

Breakdown of recent events

After applying for 820/801 on 01/2018, I got a request as sponsor for more info (police check) 2 months in. Supplied it, and we heard nothing ever since. The 820/801 application stayed as 'received' for over 2 years.

I learned of the complaint form from this thread back in Feb, and finally used it in March.

1 day after submitting complaint we received a request for a lot of additional information (all police checks, form 80, further proof of relationship) , and finally application went from received to, I think it said, 'initial review'

After waiting a few weeks for the German police check, we finally submitted all requested documents at 8.45 AM this morning. Visa grant emails came through at 10:42 AM.

After a long time of doing nothing, they can certainly work fast if they want to.

Best of luck to everyone

Do you mean you never got notification of a 820 VISA grant, and after your email you were granted 801? Or were you granted 820?
