Great news!
Also this may sound a silly question but when I applied for my 820 visa I applied through post with all the paperwork I included the form 80. Looking at my online application last night for my 801 visa I haven't included an upload of the form 80 do I need to do this again?? I chose to do the 2nd stage online as I thought it would process quicker should I now add in the form 80 or wait until a case officer contacts me I am now 12 months since eligiblity . Any advice would be greatly appreciated

All we can think of that made our assessment a bit quicker was we never updated the information once it was submitted. Once the application was in, we never sent anything else to DIBP. We are also low risk, married 3 years, together 7 years now so all the dots joined together for one happy afternoon.

Submitted and eligilibility was August 2016. Anyone else have the same date?

Hey everyone!

I just have a few questions.
I submited the 801 on August 31st 2016 as I was eligible on that date.
However my passport expires on August 2018. I sure hope I get my permanent residency before then, and if I don't will I receive the permanent residency anyways?
I just dont want the current passport to expire and if I renew it now then it can effect the process of the permanent residency.
I would post this on the 801 waiting group but the thread is closed.

Thank you!
*just posting it here didnt realise there is a new waiting group*

Hi Noel! It's not going to effect your waiting time. If your PR hasn't been granted by then, you'd just let DIBP know what your new passport number is and they'll attach it to your new passport instead once they grant it. It's very common and not a problem or a reason for concern.

Hi Noel!

Yeah you can just update it by completing a form. If you login to your online immi account and click "Related Links" at the top you can select "Change of address or passport details" and it'll take you to form 929.

Hi everyone!

Great idea of starting a new thread Mish! It'll be easier to keep track of everything (although I still need to catch up with what I missed on the other one).

Congrats on the grant College Girl!!

I thought I'd plop myself back into the waiting room again. My eligibility date is slowly approaching (what the heck happened to the first 3 months of the year?). I applied for 820 on the 15th of July 2015 so my eligibility should be 15/7/17.

From what I've heard, I should be hearing from immigration in the next month or so requesting more information? Anyone else on the same timeline as I am? I have a colleague who applied a month or so (give or take a couple of weeks) earlier as well but she hasn't heard anything as of yet..

What information did you guys hand in? I've read before that we should treat it like a new application (excluding health checks and police checks - or do we still need to get those done?)

Like a new application, excluding medicals - you still need an AFP check. Not positive about other police checks if you've spent extended time outside Australia at all - I've been in Australia since I arrived on my PMV and I only needed the AFP.

And thanks for the congrats!

So happy for you!

Thanks for the info, I didn't think we would need AFP again. I've only spent 2 weeks abroad in Malaysia for CNY (first time home in 10 years O.o) with my partner so luckily I won't need other police checks (I've been keeping this in mind.. hahah.. other countries are just so tedious to get).

How many Form 888 did you hand in this time around?
