Got my grant! very happy and thankful it got processed so quickly thank you COs!

Timeline:
Feb 2017: 300 lodged
May 2017: 300 granted
Feb 2018: 820 lodged
June 2018: 820 granted
May 2020: 801 lodged
July 2020: 801 granted

As an aside, my application status never changed from "Received" (I should know, I checked every day ). So even if it doesn't change to "under assessment", it doesn't mean you are being ignored!

To those who got their 820 and are wondering what to do next - KEEP COMPILING YOUR EVIDENCE AS YOU GO while you wait for your 801 eligibility. The type of evidence is the same as for the 820 and it's much easier to keep on top of it and be ready when they notify you. So keep saving pictures/scanning your energy bills/annotating your bank statements

To the contrary we are going to do nothing different to what we did for 820 application. Submitted the current data they required only. When the time comes in about 14 months then the information required in Immiaccount will be added. No "Further Assessment" or thoughts or wait for Grants for another 14 months.

I have decided to go it alone for the 801 application.
My questions are,
Is it necessary for me to fill out the form 956A (Appointment or withdrawal of an authorised recipient)? My agent advised me, no.
Also. Should my agent have advised me to continue uploading relevant evidence of our ongoing and committed relationship over the past 2 years, (as we awaited our 820 outcome)?
It is now that we have been asked for further information about our relationship, when it would appear that I may have received PR earlier. Like many others have done.
Thanks in advance

Based on your timeline, you should be hearing from them some time soon in 3 to 4 month or hopefully sooner. As it appears, they are processing the applications faster than normal...

All the best...

Hi everyone,

I hope you’re guys are well.

I had applied for partner visa 820/801 in October 2018 (been 21-months) . Since then i have received two emails from immi saying your application is in process. (1st email after 1 year) (2nd email after 1.5 years).

Except these two emails i have received no update or any requests from immi. I have been updating my application regularly. I am from a high risk country.

Is this normal? any advice on how to process the application quicker ?

My understanding of this is that If you were in a long term relationship at the time of application then yes, meaning you should have completed at least 3 years or 2 years if you have a child. Any time after that cant be added.. your application then gets assessed in line with all the other criteria. Again this is my opinion/understanding based on what ive seen and read.

956 A is pretty straightforward- your agent can't advise you on that- it s your decision to either hire or fire him. If you don't then the department will keep sending him info and he may then ask you to pay additional fees. The sooner you submit it the better( that is if you have made up your mind).

What I meant was, keep collecting your evidence and organising it into neat PDFs while you wait to be eligible, so they are ready when it's time to upload! Don't upload anything until it's time, obviously
That way you can lodge your application as soon as you are eligible, instead of spending a few weeks organising your evidence. The sooner you lodge, the sooner you potentially get your grant.
