Hi Cait

What address did you send the email to ? We have applied using an agent, and honestly speaking he seems to be a little less interested in dropping complaints or questions to the immigration department..we are facing a similar financial struggles where my partner has lost most of his work and I'm trying to get back into the workforce but most jobs have permanent residency as eligibility criteria.

Hi, did you end uo emailing DOHA without asking your agent?

When we applied back in February 2018 we front loaded our app. Police checks and medical before being requested to supply them and we had our visa in 36 days.

The second stage was somewhat similar, we were eligible to apply in January 2020 but didn't upload everything until June 29th, had a RFI on July 2nd and the 100 grant on the 16th of July.

I think being "low risk" had something to do with it, but also our application was as straight forward as it gets.

The best one is the specific form for this at

Partner (Permanent) Processing Centres Enquiry Form...

https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help...s-enquiry-form

This service is only to be used to contact the Department in relation to a permanent partner application currently being processed.

We used that one ourselves, and it seemed to work.
Hi.
This enquiry form can be use for 820 or just 801?

Just the Permanent visas: 801 or 100.

The form states that you agree to:

I am the holder of a temporary partner visa and I would like to enquire about the processing of my permanent application.

IApplied 820 at 1st July 2018, no news at all until now. Status mention “received” but not even initial assessment yet. 1 kid born In Australia last year and another one due soon. Is it any form/enquire requesting priority processing for bridging visa holder?

Hello everyone,

I’ve been closely following this thread over the duration of my application. Thanks for all the helpful information shared. Currently I’m awaiting the outcome of my 801 having uploaded my docs in May 2020.

Just wondering could someone clarify because Centrelink can’t seem to clear this up for me! I’m expecting a baby in Jan 2021 and I applied for my 820/801 in June 2018. From what I can see I’m NOT eligible for paid parental leave but Centrelink said I may be because of waived waiting periods for payments due to COVID but they couldn’t clarify. Has anyone had success in applying for paid parental leave in a similar situation? Centrelink keep telling me to apply because there’s nothing to loose but I’d like to know more than a month or 2 before Bub is born so I can plan out my mat leave and how long to take off work.

Thanks in advance all!

Centrelink have waived the new resident rules for many payments, but only until September. After that date they apply again, and people on those benefits have been told that they will not receive anything after that date.

They also become ineligible again until 4 years and 6 months (or 2 years and 6 months for some payments) after getting residency. It's more a case of moving the benefit period during COVID, and losing it again later.

However, things change.. I would apply on the basis that you are not eligible, and do not rely on getting anything, just in case you don't.

If any benefit would be due after September, the odds are that things will be back to normal by then, and you will be under the pre COVID rules.

WAIT... I just checked, and as I said, things change...
This is from yesterdays change:

Due to coronavirus (COVID-19) the newly arrived resident’s waiting period is waived until 31 December 2020
