My initial application was 11th August 2015. 820 was granted in May 2016.
So my eligibility date for 801 is coming up very soon. Obviously DIBP say they get onto you about it 'shortly before that date' to tell you what you need so submit etc . Except I haven't heard anything. I called them a week or so ago to ask when I could expect them to contact me and the very helpful (haha) gentleman said he didn't know either. Then he offered he could send me the information anyway. I gave him my email address (he didn't even know what a hyphen was???) and he sent me the migration booklet about the 820 visa. So I feel like there is no point calling them again. Do I just lodge an 801 application on my eligibility date without them having contacted me first? 0

Have any of you had to do that / heard about someone doing it?
I'm just so worried about something going wrong haha
You can just apply when you're eligable even if you havent heard from them.

Thank you! I am still over the moon about the great news.

For the evidence for the 801 we provided anything we could think of and we provided more statutory declaration than was requested. We provided 4-5. For our

Other things was:
- Plane tickets
- Lease
- Bills
- Joint account
- Bought a car together
- Got a pet together
- Letters addressed to both of us
- Wedding invitations
- Lots of photos of us together with friends with special emphasis on the ones who wrote stat decs for us
- Pictures of our families celebrating Christmas together
- Photos of myself and my partner's parents
- Photos of my partner and I travelling
- Special occasion cards that we have written to each other
- Evidence that we are planning a wedding
- Airbnb reviews
- Screenshots of amount of likes and comments when we announced our engagement on Facebook
- Engagement announcement in the local news paper in my home town in Norway

There was probably more but this is what I could think of. It might a little over the top but I figured if our future depended on it, we would provide anything we could think of to prove that we are a genuine couple.

I hope this was of any help to some of you

It appears they don't notify any more.. We need to remember the date we have to do the next stage, ourselves. (We have reminders set up on our phones)

I belief this is a change in circumstance and needs to be updated in my application.

I know it will not speed up the process but just to update the answer in my application as it only hard 2 kids before.

Thanks in advance
Hassan

Need you ideas please about this question. Do I need to scan and sent the birth certificate of my new born baby to QLD PP 100 office by email or I wait for their contact? Just to update my circumstance. It wont speed up my visa I know.

Hi everyone,
I have searched for the answer and I can't seem to find any info so your help would be really appreciated thanks
My partner is eligible to apply for the 801 in a few months and we want to get started but my question is: What is the timeline for the evidence for the 801? Is it evidence from the date his 820 was granted or evidence since the date we lodged the 820/801 application and paid the fee?
I am sorry if this has been asked and answered before just struggling for information on the 801 right now.

We provided evidence dated from the date we applied for the 820 so it was basically two years worth of stuff (lease, bills, engagement, photos etc) and that worked for us as we were not asked for any additional information prior to the grant of the 801

Its from the date the 820 was granted. They were satisfied you were in a defacto relationship at that point so it's from then onwards.

Hi TarlarAustralia and sollevolle
Thanks for answering.
I think I might include info from the grant with one or two bits before then too just to cover ourselves.
We were living in a little bubble for awhile there that the 802 had been granted I haven't looked into the 801 that much....time to start collecting info again.

I would assume it was in Australia as that's where I am and I just rang the number on the dibp website haha

Hi all.

I've been waiting for the outcome of my 801 visa for 23 months, eligible date was late Aug 2015, high risk country, paper based via registered agent. I was very very very patient as I know nothing I can do to speed up the process.

My agent is not really helpful, just told me to wait a little bit more despite the fact that the processing time far exceeds the Department's timeframe. It was too late to change to other agent, I guess. They are the same agent that help lodged my partner application from beginning. It was 19 months to get my TR visa, was far exceed standard timeframe at that time too.

Recently one member said that he/she contacted the Department and been told that they somehow forget his/her application, then I know I should give it a try request for my application's update. I used the contact form on the BIDP website, and it was 1 week ago. So far still haven't got any response from them except an auto email with Q&A.

My question is, how much longer should I wait before contacting them again?

Many thanks
