I've been waiting for the outcome of my 801 visa for 23 months, eligible date was late Aug 2015, high risk country, paper based via registered agent. I was very very very patient as I know nothing I can do to speed up the process.

My agent is not really helpful, just told me to wait a little bit more despite the fact that the processing time far exceeds the Department's timeframe. It was too late to change to other agent, I guess. They are the same agent that help lodged my partner application from beginning. It was 19 months to get my TR visa, was far exceed standard timeframe at that time too.

Recently one member said that he/she contacted the Department and been told that they somehow forget his/her application, then I know I should give it a try request for my application's update. I used the contact form on the BIDP website, and it was 1 week ago. So far still haven't got any response from them except an auto email with Q&A.

My question is, how much longer should I wait before contacting them again?

Many thanks
That is outside their global processing times. You should lodge a complaint with DIBP: https://www.border.gov.au/about/cont...enship-service

They will give you a standard response which I believe now says that they will investigate within 15 days. After the time that they say on the email has passed and you have not heard anything then you can lodge a complaint with the ombudsman.

Do not lodge a complaint with the ombudsman until you have lodged a complaint with DIBP and the time frame they have given you has passed otherwise the ombudsman will not investigate it because you have not given DIBP a chance to respond.

What high risk country are you from? There are some high risk countries that just seem to take longer to process than others. Also paper applications seems to take longer to process than online applications (in alot of cases).

Thanks Mish.

I wasn't use the complain form (too worry that it might upset them lolzzz), so I was using enquiry form at https://www.border.gov.au/about/corp...s-enquiry-form

Do you think I should wait another week for them to answer my previous one before lodging a complain?

Cheers.

ps. I am from Vietnam

My understanding is they don't rely to queries relating to the processing. When my husband applied we emailed them twice and never got a reply.

You shouldn't be scared to complain, you have been waiting 23 months which is past their global service standards, so you have every right to complain.

I would lodge a complaint now.

You need to use the link that Mish gave you, you'll get a standard reply and it will say within how many days they'll respond.
Once that deadline has passed and they haventresponded/youre not hapy with the response then contact the Ombudsman. They'll see that its outside the waiting times DIBP quoted, and also that you complaied and got no response/not a good enough one, and they should investigate.

Thanks. I just did using the link that Mish provided, now keep my fingers and toes crossed for possitive outcome. Funny part is, if I click on inquire/complain about visa processing, the system won't let me go further. So I just selected NO then fill in my complain. So far no confirmation email yet, but I got a case number after submit the form.

You all have a nice day.

My question again. Since my application lodged by registered agent, I am not sure if the Department got my email on file or not. Part of auto response email I got when submitting inquiry last time said: "Any update requests originating from unauthorised email accounts will not be actioned, please consult our website www.border.gov.au for further information."

Now I lodged a complain via link that Mish provide, would they response to my provided email or will they send to my agent? Too much headache...

Thanks

Hi all I'm new here.
Is anyone know how long 801 visa to be granted? I applied 820 on 30/6/2015 and I already sent the second stage for 801 on 30/5/2017. Do I need to wait for another 1 year to be granted?
