It shouldn't matter as the 820 allows you to leave and reenter Australia as much as you like. You can always upload evidence that is it a temporary thing to show you still intend to live in Australia as a PR. You can be anywhere in the world for the 801 grant.

Hey Niamh.
Myself and my wife have been in pretty much the same situation. Applied for 820 Aug 2014, granted a year later. Been a year waiting for the 801.
Not together as long, but had same issue as we also bought land. Was given a joint mortgage (incorrectly) by ANZ, who when we went for the second top up mortgage to build our house they denied it as she did not have PR. Had to refinance everything with CBA who didn't care if one of us was not PR. It's a pain, but hopefully will be granted in next few months!

Hi all fellows. Checking my VEVO as now, seems website is down or something wrong with my account as it takes forever to load. Could someone do me a favor to confirm that VEVO is working just fine, then maybe I got something to cheer up or to worry about.

God... please bless me!

Evening, I was wondering how Immi views health conditions in regards to the partner visa ? I'm awaiting results for arthritis tests, but I am in my mid 20's and I'm wondering:

One if anything comes back do I have to inform Immi?
Two would they see this as a reason not to approve as it could potentially affect work or cost money to medicare?

Hi all. After a week waiting, finally receiced the confirmation email, post here so someone might curious to know.

"Acknowledgement of feedback

Dear Mr xxxxx

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection has received your feedback on 28 July 2017. Feedback on our processes and services is important and we thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

This matter has been referred to the relevant business area for action. We aim to provide a response within 15 working days of this email.

Your Feedback Case Number is IMMI-xx-xxxxx. You should quote this number in any further enquiries relating to this matter.

Yours sincerely"

However, they choose the word very carefully, I lodged a "complain" but they seem don't like it, so they mentioned it as "feedback". It doesn't make any difference on how they consider and process my query, I hope

Been crossing my fingers and toes for so long...

That's so interesting to know! I might try CBA and see if I can get the ball rolling with our house.

I'm currently sorting out my paperwork, then finally applying for my 801 on Friday! Now I just realized... does my partner/sponsor have to lodge another application thingy too? Or does she just have to fill in the statutory declaration? And on the declaration form where it says 'date the relationship began', did you put the date you became a couple or the date you became a de-facto couple?

Also my memory of my 820 application is a bit rusty, but I think I remember filling in all the financial and social statements etc during the application itself and then not having to submit a statutory declaration for that. Is that right?

Sorry for all the question, I really didn't miss having to do all this haha

Hey Rose,

Congratulations for the good news.

Ease tell us what happened after you complained? Did you complain to DIBP or to the Ombudsman?

What did they tell you in their email responding to your complain?
