Hi all just adding some more numbers into the mix. My partner (from the UK) and I (AUS citizen) recently applied for the second stage and are settling in for what looks like a long wait. I’m not sure if the new waiting times apply to us, but I’m guessing they probably do... Would love to hear from people with eligibility dates around ours to keep track of progress

Applied for 820: 25 Mar, 2015
Got 820 On: 12 May, 2016
Eligibility date: 25 Mar, 2017
Applied for 801: 25 Mar, 2017

My eligibility date to apply for my 801 will be in September. Now when I applied for my 820 it was via paper, and I will be renewing my passport in July. I went to the immigration office here in Perth to ask them on how I can update my passport details but told me they can't help me as they no longer accept inquiries in the office in person. They told me to update it in my iMMiAccount, but I forgot to mention that I lodged via paper so basically I can't update anything online.

On September, will I be allowed to submit my requirements online even though for my 820 it was done via paper? I want to do it online now so that when my new passport comes in, I can easily update my passport details. I will be going outside Australia in November too.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello,
I'm not eligible to apply for 801 till December, and only just got 820 in early April.
I also originally applied in Perth and on paper. My passport also just expired and I received my new one yesterday. I'm planning on printing out that passport change form, and submitting it with certified passport colour copy into Dropbox in Perth office.

That's what I did as part of 820 application with change of circumstance form and that worked with no problems. Dropped it off with marriage cert copy and updated details.

They have po box for Perth office in northbridge that's stated on the form but I live close by so it's kind of easier to just drop them off myself.

Yeah it said somewhere that even if applied on paper for 820, 801 application can be done online. That's what I'm planning to do anyhow.

hey all, I'm just starting the tedious process of putting everything together for my 801 now as I'm eligible in July 2017, meaning I should potentially be hearing from my lawyer about immigration in the next month or so...

Bank statements - since I'm accessing these online and printing them from there, do I print them in colour? and do I need to go to the bank to get them certified??

Also, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's not exactly "miss social" when it comes to going out etc etc as both me and my partner work in the service industry and when we finally have a day off we generally like to spend it vegged out on the couch watching movies and eating some horrendous takeaway pizza.. Obviously this is hard to prove and it doesn't always shed much light on our social life.. We are extroverted introverts essentially.. only being extroverted when we need to (like work) and when given a chance we sit like hermits at home. Please tell me this won't affect my application since we don't catch up with friends very often either (they are also mostly in hospitality so days off together don't really happen much either)... HELP...

Hi guys,

We have applied for our 801 (online) on the 13th of October 2016 (Eligibility date).

I have attached 60 documents and have reached my limit.

Do we need to attach more proofs since the application date? Like flight tickets, shows, etc?

Will that help with my application? if yes, how do i attach them to the online application as i have exhausted my options? Should i attach them on my partners profile on the application since he has slots left.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yeah the best would be to attach them under your partner's profile. The CO would be able to just see all the attachments linked to your application

I would strongly advise to apply online. There are quite a few people who applied by paper waiting a long time, so it might be safer to apply online. Also you can update evidence if you apply online.

I will let you know when my husband's PR is granted if it makes a difference . We aren't very social either, we go to the movies alot together etc but I am an introvert too so I prefer to hang with my husband. I would imagine it should not make a different as they should understand that some couples don't like to socialise alot.

Thanks Mish. I'm going through an immigration lawyer so I think it'll be an online application but I hand them all my paperwork.. So thus was asking in regards to the bank statements whether I need to get them printed in colour (from the online banking site) and getting them certified by the bank?

Please let me know how everything goes as you're further ahead than I am in the process.. We don't even go to the movies much... We just sit at home, spend time together and watch stuff on our own tv (downloads.. oops) as we both work so hard we don't always have the energy to think about going out.

Are you able to just email them in PDF from the bank to the immigration lawyer or give it to them on USB/disc?

IF not then I would print them in colour. If you get them certified all they will do it write that it is a certified copy of a digital copy. Your other option is to get the bank to print it and put their stamp on it.

Hi like Mish and her husband, we are both introverts and basically just hang out together. DIBP didn't have any issues with us at all, as our 801 was approved in just over 9 months, so please don't sweat it. We gave them about 10 maybe 12 photos and that was it.

Hi All,

Just a quick update, my 801 was approved last Thursday (20th) and my eligibility date was the 11th so just over 12 months waiting.

I made a complaint to immi and then to the ombudsman a few weeks earlier and that seems to have sped the process up a little.
