Hey all! Just a quick question. I have applied for the 801 yesterday and didn't receive any confirmation email (auto-generated). I remember I got an auto-generated one for my 820 and my WHV, so just wondering if people who applied here got the email for the 801?

When I login to my immi account my application is there (family stage 2) and showed as "Assessment in Progress"

Does this make sense? For some reason it sounds a bit worrying to me but maybe I am just stressing myself out...

That's fine, I don't think you get an email after completing your 801 as it's a just the second part of the first initial visa not a separate application.
My immi status has been "assessment in progress" for months and months now and most people have the same status so no need to fret!

Hello everyone,

I'm preparing to apply for 801 and started to fill in the application form (Stage 2 - Permanent Partner Visa Assessment (100,801)) in my immiaccount.

One question was about my employment in the past two years. I was unemployed for the entire time and I am worried that this will have a negative effect on my application. When I was on the prospective marriage visa I did voluntary work for a few months, then we got married, I applied for the partner visa, shortly afterwards we went travelling abroad for a while and I fell pregnant during this trip. When we came back to Australia I was looking for a job and I wasn't employed because of my pregnancy. During the job interviews I was honest as I didn't want to start a work relationship with a lie. Since the the birth of our child I have been staying at home.
We entirely depend on my husband financially but we managed really well without any problems.

Still as I say I'm worried that it might look negative that I haven't had a paid job in the past two years. Any experience?

hi bee14,

As long as your sponsor is fully supporting you and you guys don't have any debts to oz gov or ato, I don't think it will have a negative effect on you. As you said, you manage really well financially.
Just make sure in your partner's statement (I assumed this is your sponsor) states that he fully supports you.
That's just my 2 cents

Hope all goes well and u'll able to find work soon.

Hi friends,
I have a question: Where to inform the immi as we'll travel overseas for 3 weeks?

I checked their web, but I couldn't find more information, only this :

"You can travel outside Australia as many times as you want on the temporary Partner visa (subclass 820) but you must let us know your travel plans before you leave Australia."

Any information is much appreciate
Thanks

I would not worry too much about it beause you cant control the job market.
My husband is in similar situation like you expect that every now and then heís able to secure casual / seasonal work .

His last contract was around February / March this year and still looking up until now . He had no option but to go back to uni from July so he does not look like heís doing nothing .
WA employment market has been a pain but what can we do .

We wrote a statement explaining that heís fully supported by me when he canít secure work.

Beside immigration canít deny your visa because you canít find work thatís discrimination.

We never told them when we went overseas, but we had not lodged stage 2 when we went overseas.

Just make sure you have your 820 visa grant printed incase you need it when you are overseas.

Thank you so much for the info, Mish
We already lodged ours on this April. I understand the process will take much longer than our holiday trip (before any CO will even look at our file), but that sentence "must let us know before leave Australia" is making us uncertain
