We already lodged ours on this April. I understand the process will take much longer than our holiday trip (before any CO will even look at our file), but that sentence "must let us know before leave Australia" is making us uncertain
Just email, you probably won't get a reply but atleast you have told them. The visa can be granted anywhere in the world anyway. Also I assume the joint travel itinerary is included as evidence so they will see it anyway.

In all honesty I don't know why they have that you need to tell them as it just creates more work for them.

I know, right One thing they said "must inform them" and other thing they said "can be granted anywhere in the world".. it's confusing.
Or maybe to inform them which file can be postponed bec the applicant is on vacation .. well who knows

Hi Mish

I noticed that the spreadsheet on Page one of this thread has been missing the Grants for 2017 for the last few weeks. I think it needs updating. It is a helpful document

Thanks

They won't postpone the file just because someone is out of the country. We've seen many people on this forum receive their 801s while outside Australia.

I would think it's more likely for contact purposes... I'm only contactable by email when I'm out of the country (And depending on the country, sometimes not even email). If I informed them of the dates I'm out and my contact information, they will know how to get in touch with me if they need to.

They know when you're onshore or offshore with everything digitally tied to passports these days.

I just leave it for people to update when they have been granted.

I haven't been around much the past month as just got back from holidays last week.

Correct! Just for fun after we cleared immigration when we left the country I checked my husband's VEVO and it said offshore.

Alot of people are in the same situation as you. If you submitted your 820 in March 2016 then your eligibility date for 801 is March 2018. DIBP won't send an email to remind you to submit the documents.

The current processing times are 75% processed within 16 months and 90% processed within 22 months. 10% of applications are taking longer than 22 months.

Hi everybody, I'm waiting for the 801 and it's entering 20months now . I'm from high risk country, china. I have received a further documents required since at February 2017., then waiting without any voice till now . I submitted the application on February 2014 , get 820 at November 2014 , and my eligible dated for 801 is on February 2016. I have sent a letter and updated evidence since last week . But no any response till now . As I see the global processing time is 16-22months . Just thinking if waiting up to 22months , how should I do after that ? feeling so helpless and hopeless. Not easy to find a full time job related to my subject in local companies with no PR. Should I complain them after 22months ? Or ask a lawyer to do something or sort of ?
