So my 801 application went in on 6th June 2016.

Recently I went to upload some documents for our upcoming trip and realise that nothing I had previously uploaded was there!! Cue major panic attack and one and a half hours on hold waiting to speak with Immigration. My fault or there's I don't know but I had only six things uploaded!! The lady gave me an email address for the Melbourne processing centre to contact them.

I emailed don 23/8/17 simple to ask if they could see what I uploaded, I got a generic email in reply then on the 24/08/17 I was sent an email with details of what was missing and told I had 28 days to upload it.

I've done my 28 days and uploaded everything but not heard any more back from them. On my account it still says it has been received but has not been assigned for assessment!

really hoping it comes in before November as we are travelling back to the UK for Christmas!

I was going to update the spreadsheet but don't think I can, not sure if this is worth being on there.
Hopefully something soon

I just updated the spreadsheet for you with a new date in the first column that way we know you are still waiting.

I was thinking to send PM's to people who haven't updated the first column on the spreadsheet to see if they are still waiting - you saved me a PM

I have a question though. If the visa is rejected when I'm overseas, can I still re enter the country in the 28 days period? Or it's effective immediately?

Don't think it would happen, but just to have my mind clear!
It gets cancelled effective immediately and if you are offshore they don't grant a bridging visa. You would need to wait offshore for the appeal.

Most applications say "assessment in progress" upon submission. Your new notice is an update, and letting you know that your case is actively being looked at, but it isn't an indication that it will be approved anytime soon. So, in other words your still in a waiting game :/ Best of luck!

Ours was granted today So glad to finally have it completed after years and years of worry.

Does anyone understand the resident return visa it seems after 5 years you need to apply again is that the case? Surely not...

Permanent residency is permanent, but it comes with a travel facility. You get 5 years initially then need to reapply if you plan to leave Australia and want to be let back in.

My 801 came through this morning. Online submission, no contact from Immi since I submitted, although I have been uploading new evidence every 2-3 months.

Mish, I'm not sure how to update the spreadsheet?
