Sure

- Arrived in Australia on a WHV in July 2014
- Applied for 820/801 23 August 2014
- Received 820 15 August 2015
- Applied for 801 about a month before my eligibility date
- Eligible for 801 on 23 August 2016
- Received 801 today, 9 October 2017

No further contact from immigration. De facto (newly engaged).

A weird quick question: do I need to notify Medicare, or will a proper card be issued automatically?

Hey Msamy,

Comgratulations for the visa grant.

You don't need to contact Medicare. They will be notified automatically by DIBP. Medicare will send a letter to you advising of you being granted PR and you will receive medicare card. And subsequently, you will get you medicare card to your postal address.

That is how I received it in September after my visa was granted

Hey Basheer,

Why don't you complain to them first and see their response. If nothing happens, complain to OMBUSMAN and see if they can investigate. Not sure if they will do that though.

Hi all,

This is probably a very silly question - but do we provide another form 47SP for the 801?

I've just uploaded everything, and submitted the application and now I am panicking because we didn't do that form.

Also, should all evidence relating to the sponsor (stat dec, ID etc) be uploaded in the same section as the applicant's evidence, or in the sponsor's section? I've just noticed that the sponsor section only has a few things in the list of attachments.

Thanks
Em

I could be wrong, but the Partner Stat Dec is supposed to be the 801's version of the 47SP.

Just an aside: I never uploaded my 47SP for my 820 visa. Immi messaged me nearly 15 months after I applied to notify me of this. oops!

Hi all, I'm a long time lurker, first time posting.

I know we never have firm timelines on any of this, but we have an 801 in process for my partner, and were recently asked to resubmit the police check as the previous one has expired. They didn't ask for anything else. Can we be at all hopeful that this means it might be close to a decision?

Our eligibility date was Jan 2017, and we applied in April 2017, so it has only been 6 months which I know is very early. However since then we have requested immigration consider compassionate reasons to speed up the process for us (via letters to immigration, and our local MP also tried to contact them on our behalf), but that hasn't helped so far. It's a reasonably complicated and long story as to why we need it quickly, so I won't bother with the full explanation unless you think it's relevant. It is a very genuine request though, we wouldn't ask unless we really felt there was no other choice.

Anyway, we're now just really hoping hoping the decision might be coming quickly, and our agent says it might be so but we can't be sure. Is it more likely that they just asked for an updated document because the old one is due to expire, and nothing more than that?

Any insight, reassuring or otherwise, would be helpful. Thanks all.

Hi all,

I have been a silent follower of this forum and wanted to let you know I just received my long awaited grant!

Arrived from Belgium in Australia on a WHV in September 2013
- Applied for 820/801 4 September 2014
- Received 820 22 October 2015
- Applied for 801 12 September 2016
- Received 801 today, 13 October 2017

A bit over 13 month wait, online application, no agent, no contact.

All the best to all of you still waiting for your day!!
