I made a complaint to immi and then to the ombudsman a few weeks earlier and that seems to have sped the process up a little.
Biiiiig congratulations!!! Such a wonderful feeling to get that email isn't it? Good luck on your new life and enjoy the wait for citizenship (agggghhh).

It certainly is, i couldn't quite believe it when it arrived! It's a 9 year process come to an end for me so a big relief!

The citizenship step will hopefully come in 12 months but its not looking hopeful as they seem fairly adamant about the 4 year thing, it would be nice to get citizenship but to be honest it's not going to stop me from doing anything i want to as i have no plans to live anywhere else, i'm just happy with the PR for the time being

Assessement progress

Hiya Guys,

Congrats to everyone who recently got their visas approve so good to see a steady flow of approvals !
Quick question, just logged into my immi and under status it has a red explanation mark and says "Important information
This application is currently being assessed. The department may contact the applicant if further supporting documentation is required."

I usually check the VEVO app & that is still stating my 820 is in effect, I was just wondering if this means my 801 being reviewed or is it a normal status after applying ? Application was put in 26th Oct so I've not got high hopes haha!

Thank you!

It is hard to say. It could just be someone checking to see if all the mandatory documents are there before it eventually gets to a case officer.

Time will tell....

I sent in a ready to go application so I did think it might be somebody just checking it's all there. Exciting still just to have it acknowledged!

I remember DragonGirl had the same thing but I couldn't find anywhere saying how long after her PR was approved. I'll update if anything happens ! Thanks Mish!

I am applying for my 801 on Friday and have a last min question. For the past 6 months, my partner and I have been seeing a couples counselor to help resolve communication issues. We never broke up and are definitely planning on staying together long term. Should I include this information? I ask because I am submitting bank records that will include the charge to our therapist. It's not obvious what the charge is and the case worker would have to google to figure it out. Part of me doesn't want to draw attention to it in case it makes it seem our relationship is having issues / may not be long term (not the case at all) but also don't want to look like I am hiding anything. The last question on the online app asks about how the relationship has developed so I thought about writing something like "to prepare for marriage, ___ and I have been seeing a therapist fine tune our communication skills" Any advice?

It might actually make the application look even more genuine.

If you do want to mention it, and I can see the logic for considering it, then maybe something along the lines of:

We are in a normal married relationship, some ups and downs, but we have also decided to have some relationship advise to ensure there are as few downs as possible.

They may of course ask for the counsellor to give them a report?
