What will you give to Australia

I see a few posts that ask:
Can I get the baby bonus
Can I get rental help
Can I get go to university at a cheaper rate.
Can I get bla bla bla

Do you know that all these "can I gets" are paid for by people that contribute to Australian society by paying taxes , by volunteering to help others etc etc.

What are you going to give to this country and its people.
Are you coming here to be a user or a good member of society that helps people that are in need of assistance and contributes something good to this country that accepts people from all over the world.

I know what you mean, sometimes its hard to bite your tongue when people seem to be primarily interested in government benefits being in Australia brings.

Yeah, being a tax payer you'll feel the pinch! Better don't take advantage on this unless for people who really in need.

Benefits are offset against higher taxes. The reason taxes are lower in the U.S are because people don't receive that much in benefits.

Offset...yes thats the problem. Taxpayers pay for immigrants who only want to reap the benefits. Its not everyone obviously but there are a few!

This really disturbs me and angers me when I read posts where people are asking what benefits they can claim before they have even gotten into Australia. If you plan on moving to Australia you should have a plan on how YOU will support yourself and contribute to society.
We have enough people taking advantage of the welfare system as it is.

I totally agree that its not very nice asking for government support without even being in Australia yet / never paid tax yet.
BUT, I have to defend myself, I was the one who asked the question with the baby bonus - I paid tax in Germany for more than 10 years, pay tax in Australia now for 2 years and my partner paid tax in Australia for about 20 years.
So why should we not get the right to receive any baby bonus of any country, just because we have a international relationship??
We are both honest people, work, pay our tax and go through lots of troubles just to be somehow able to live together...
And by the way, what is the difference of an Australian woman getting pregnant of a foreigner to an Australian making a foreign woman pregnant???
Why should one get the payment and the other one not??
Both have an international relationship...

This is why it's do hard for the good people to get visas cos all these people that just want want want everything given to them make it harder for others.
