Smile hello from Croatia

I am 37 and would like to migrate to Australia. I've never been there but have heard only good things about this country. Could anyone tell me whether FCE (First Certificate in English) from Cambridge would meet the language requirements for visa? I have a university degree in teaching (primary school) with an emphasise on English language programme. I work as an English teacher in a primary school in Croatia. Could I somehow use my qualifications in Australia and would it be an advantage for getting visa approved?

i think the better idea is to find the information in Immigration Website, Department of Immigration & Citizenship, by now, i haven't heard this certificate is accepted. they really like to look at your IELTS score.

Welome to the forum another Wannabe Aussie.

If you have a look under eligibility for any visa [links in sticky thread #6] you'll see the english language requirements.
If your teaching degre was done at an english language university, that'll enable you to get a basic 15 language points but for more it'll be a cas of sitting the IELTS.

If getting points looks like being a hurdle, you could always look at getting a state nomination and going for a 176 visa and there under eligibility you'll find links to the different states to see what is involved in getting a nomination.
You'll likely need to first get your teaching qualifications assessed by Teaching Australia [required for Immi application], and possibly have a state registration approved to get state nomination.

But it'll put you at a higher processing priority and you'll only need 100 points.

I'll move your thread to the Immi section.
Feel free to ask more.
