187 rsms visa condition

We just got our 187 rsms visa. My husband is the primary applicant. The condition of 187 visa is that you need to work for your employer in regional area for at least 2 years. I am wondering if this obligation only applies towards my husband. I am currently looking for jobs, but obviously I will have more chances finding a job in big cities, like Sydney or Melbourne. Can I work outside of the regional area where my husband's employer is with a 187 visa?
