Partner Visa 820 APPROVED!

Hi all, just wanted to share the news that my partner visa 820 finally got approved 2 weeks ago. And I had no idea until I'd gone to the immigration office to check it out! I was going to apply for a Bridging Visa B to leave the country and was told by the immigration officer that I'd actually gotten my application approved on 14 June, so there was no need. Imagine the surprise on my face! I had not received a letter/email informing me of the outcome, almost did not believe it until I checked my visa grant number on VEVO.

Has this happened to anyone else before? Regardless, this is amazing news. I finally feel like I can start my life proper in the country. If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to help -- this forum has been absolutely invaluable with assisting me in putting my application together and I'd love to be able to pay it forward.

Good luck with your applications.

Congrats!! I'd love to know where you applied and how long the approval took. I can't see timelines and such on my phone. How did you organize your app?

I applied via mail at the WA office. I live in Adelaide.

My timeline as such:

- application received by WA processing office 14 Dec 2012
- medicals received 22 Dec 2012
- Singapore police clearance received 6 Feb 2013
- national police check received 14 May 2013 (as I had been in Australia for a year since April 2012)
- 820 visa approved 14 June 2013

I'll put up a list of what I sent along with my application in the next post.
