I don't like it when people lean on your seat when they are queuing for the toilets.

No worries, iduno. I wasn't upset - just wanted to share another perspective.

Generally on an aircraft not only can I not stretch my legs out but my knees are digging painfully into the seat in front of me. And I can't even get up and walk the aisles for relief as my hips are bigger than the aisles, which means I would be bumping passengers on each side as I walked past (at least on smaller aircraft... not sure about the huge double-decker jets... I think they have wider aisles?)

I actually always pre-board just to avoid bumping into other people. Sucks not having space to get up and walk around, though (and dangerous, too, given all that DVT stuff they warn you about.)

Did I say I am NOT looking forward to the flights?!

We've been on the new double-decker jets in economy and there was more leg room and the seats were bigger - it almost felt like first class in comparrison to the older jets

I agree with missmonte,
Normally my flight is on an "A380" and it's seriously massive! You would have more room if you book on one of those jets

I had to laugh to myself tonight and i will explain why, now this topic is what annoys us on planes well heres a short story and its a conversation i had with a friend of mine tonight, she arrives in Australia via Malta- Dubai - Perth.

So i had on numerous occasions told her the procedure at Dubai airport were to go and what to do, she has never travelled out of Malta in 56 years so going to Dubai can be a bit daunting for her taking into consideration the size of the airport. Tonight she skyped me to tell me the problem had being solved she didnt have to worry about the airports all three of them M-D-P as she had solved the problem NOW THIS PIXXXED ME OFF she had called the airline Emirates and told them that she had decided to cancel her flight ( not true) as she has panic attacks and has a heart problem ( not true) and the thought of getting lost in the airports was giving her nightmares ( not true she carnt sleep with excitement) so Emirates told her no dont worry we will supply free of charge a wheelchair and a car at the airport in dubai ( the buggy type ones in the airport) for you plus they will take around the duty free shopping they then told her you wont wait in the ques you will go straight through check in and get this now this pixxed me off big time they told her they would give her (return also) seating at the front with extra leg room due to her heart trouble. WTF i had to pay extra for extra leg room, i did ask were she had received this terrible idea from, she informed me that a friend of hers had told her about it apparently most of these people you see in wheelchairs are just taking the piss just to get the extra leg room and the que jumping. Now that pixxes me off big time.

I really doubt it's "most" louise. Most of the ones I see appear to be elderly or legitimately disabled. Don't let a few bad apples prejudice you against everyone you see in airports in wheelchairs...

CC im not prejudice against elderly in wheel chairs lol, but does bring back memories of tourist,s coming in the rest getting rat arsed and dancing around and then seeing them on there departure at the airport in a wheel chair telling everyone they cannot walk lol. Must be true what they say Heineken does reach the parts other beers cannot reach in there case it was there legs.

Anything can be annoying when people are stuck in the air for many hours sitting uncomfortably with screaming kids around but we have to be patient and respectful towards each other of course.

Last time I flew to AUS there was an eldery gentleman from Germany sitting next to me. He was telling me about his work and family, and during the violent turbulence he held my hand to calm me down since I was scared feeling very uncomfy Such a sweet person!

Ah, long flights. Fun times. Amsterdam-Dubai-Kuala Lumpur-Melbourne, Melbourne-Singapore-Dubai-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Kuala Lumpur-Melbourne, Melbourne-Kuala Lumpur-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Singapore-Melbourne. That's the ones I've done - my partner did 2 more flying back and forth from Amsterdam to Melbourne when his sister had her baby. We've tried Emirates, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, British Airways... I think that's it.

Anyways - I'm not easily annoyed on these long flights. I always feel like there is this general consensus between everyone on the plane that we're all just gonna have to get over pet peeves as much as we can while we're in there. I don't mind people putting down their seats, I don't mind people behind me sticking their knees in my back (I can understand), I don't mind people climbing over me or leaning on my chair.

The one thing that I am unreasonably annoyed with (and still I try to keep it under control is) - get ready to be offended, parents! - kids. Kids on 12+ hour flights. WHY. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY. I didn't leave my hometown until I was 7 and I grew up okay-ish I understand family reuniting but let me tell you - if I had a baby in Australia and my parents wanted to see it, I'd fly them over. But I realize not everyone can do this - then again it's not my business why people need to relocate babies to the other side of the planet.

No seriously. The ONE time I've gotten a window seat was on the Singapore Airlines flight (a LONGGGG one) and I was all like - yay! They gave me a window seat. And then once everyone was boarded I realized EVERYONE with children under 3 was seated in front of or next to me. They put me in the damn baby section! LOL!

Sure I understand... your child is everything - as they should be. But this guy in the seat in front of me man! He kept lifting up the baby so it's head was almost above my food and the baby kept sneezing and caughing! I'M EATING!

That's ranting obviously. Rationally I know babies are very important. I just don't have any or enjoy to sit next to any on planes. Sorry!

Hello nelly nice to see you again lol.
I believe every person on the planet has a hate of some sort or lets be polite and say a dislike which most of us can easily control lol. But ones patience is tested quite strongly when you have a certain dislike and its sat right next to you or within your sense of smell touch and hearing distance, I do feel sorry for babies on planes as there ears must go through some pain bless them, and there is really nothing any one can do.
I have read all the comments on this thread and it brings back quite a few little annoyances as i recall many a time on a long haul flight, like the guy opposite me who decides to reach up for something out of the compartment with his arse stuck in my face and he farts now thats just rude and distgusting.
