Hi Dodo, it sounds like a tough situation indeed.

Unfortunatly your ex partner has a responsibility as the sponsor to be honest about the breakdown of your relationship. Pretending to be together so you can get PR is immigration fraud and has serious consequences for you both should you be caught. I know the consequence for you is at least a 3 year ban from applying to come to Australia.

How have you been in Australia since you were 17? Which visa did you arrive on?

Have you considered a student visa? Or leaving and applying for a WHV to extend your stay?

I would highly recommend ceasing your attempts at convincing your ex partner to assist you in getting your PR at this point.

Yes - what you're suggesting is fraud, and your ex partner could face jail time. I'm afraid you are going to need to get a different visa on your own merits or leave the country. In fact, he's required to notify DIAC within 28 days of your relationship breaking down.

Dodo, what you're asking for now is advice for committing migration fraud. I'm going to have to close this thread as we do not condone committing criminal acts here. You need to follow the law, let DIAC know your relationship has ended and do the right thing. I'm sorry. I know it's tough, but that's the risk you run when you apply for a partner visa. It's contingent on your relationship until you become a permanent resident.
