Hi Mark,

I wonder what happens now after I have lodged my visa application? When i attempt to check status of lodged application thru DIBP site the system is down. Any news regarding this system breakdown?

Hi Kindred -

No, sorry. Would try again tomorrow Australia time - DIBP systems sometimes go down overnight here (it's almost midnight here now) for what I assume to be maintenance reasons, etc.

Best,

Mark Northam

Hi Mark,

I have finished uploading all required documents as outlined / advised on my application page. I think the best time to upload would be in the afternoon-- smoother than in the morning.
I have printed Form 80 but I haven't uploaded since it's not in the list yet. Would you advise that I frontload it ( before being required by CO ) ?

Am just so happy to share what I have accomplished today!

Hi Kindred -

Yes, would suggest uploading - as long as it's ready, might as well take care of that so they don't have to ask for it. Congratulations on your progress!!

Best,

Mark

Hi mark.,

How are you?

It's been almost 2 weeks since I lodged visa application( oct 5 ). But i wonder how long will it take for the acknowledgment email from DIBP?
Also, what does the status in progress mean?

Thanks

Hi Kindred -

I'd give it another 2 to 4 weeks. In progress means lodged and waiting for assessment, so you're essentially in a queue.

Hope this helps -

Best,

Mark Northam

Yes Mark thanks ! But is it that status usual after only 2 weeks of lodging? I thought it should go through the stage ' application receive ' first.

Anyway, does the status in progress mean it's ready for CO allocation very SOON?!

Just thinking positively!

Hi Kindred -

Wish I could say that it means CO allocation soon, but there is not a predictable relationship between that status and getting your CO allocation - depends on a myriad of factors including current workload, etc. But still do think positively - it can only help!

Best,

Mark Northam

Hi Mark--
Today, on the 55th day of visa 189 application, i was granted my PR.

I had to find this thread to thank you and many others who have helped me along the way in this journey. This is where it started in July when I first consulted you ' pro bono'. So it would be symbolical to use this thread today.

Truly, like many others in the forum, you have shown how it is to share to others your time and talent.

Thank you so much Mark.
