Hi jlimkw,

My first assessment was as a "2231-79 Computing Professionals nec", and since this was a general category I fell into the lowest priority processing group (5), last year I got a recommendation from an agent who replied my inquiry, and it was basically to request a re-assessment to ACS, they gave me another letter and after that it took me like 4 months to get my visa granted. Let me know if you need any help. What is your speciality?

To be honest I can't remember exactly which category I applied under but I remember it was something generic so should be something along your line.
A re-assessment by ACS? Interesting... how did you go about doing it? Would appreciate some details

Edit: Oh I forgot to mention my specialty... if I even have one... I'm a systems guy with a SaaS company...

Well my suggestion is that you contact ACS and apply for a new assessment and then attach it to your application so they will put u in priority 4

Cool will think about that and would you remember how long it took for the re-assessment?

If you are not priority5, you might be in security checks.

Hi,Ponpon

How to find out what priority group I belong to?
After waiting for about 2 years, sent an e-mail with request about status of the application. As answer - generic message, created by computer and nothing specific. On the web it's says 18 month, 25 already passed how many more. At the same time no refusal yet. Quite disappointing.

All subclass 175 visa applications have been allocated to CO or granted PR.
So you should have your case officer.
You don't need to worry about your priority group.
Your application might be in security checks.
If you are from Canada, you will get your visa soon.
I heard the applicants from high risk country take a long time to finish security checks.
But I don't know about security checks because I got PR without security checks.
Good Luck.
