Student Visa financial Requirement

DIAC stated that the total money required must be kept in the bank for 3 months to meet the financial requirement for visa application for those going for Diploma and certificate program(572 visa),is this financial obligation or condition required for stream line visa applicants.

Hi Frank -

Nope. Streamline applicants (that is, applicants to programs in Australia that DIAC has granted streamlined status to) generally do not need to provide financials or English evidence. However, even streamlined applicants are subject to Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) considerations which can affect people from higher-risk countries, and the school you apply to has the right to ask for financials and/or English evidence to satisfy themselves that you are an acceptable candidate for study.

Hope this helps -

Best,

Mark Northam

Dear Mark,
Thank you for immediate response. Now if one is going for advanced diploma from high risk countries(assessment level 3),may be the total of his DIAC financial settings is about 40000AUD and you have about 30000AUD for the past 3 months and completed the 40000AUD within 1 to 2 months prior to submit visa application, does it have any effect.

Depends, however DIAC generally wants the entire amount required by the visa applicant's conditions to have been in the applicant's account for 3 months prior to applying. You may want to have a migration agent review the details of your situation to see how you may satisfy the rules, etc - they are not simple in some cases.
