2nd stage spouse visa

Hi everyone,

I have a few questions about spouse visa second stage processing,i received mail from DIAC to provide documents needed for my permanent residence visa.

QUESTION ONE:First we have don't have any joint bills or lease together, our landlord doesn't want to give us receipts to show we are paying rent because she thinks it will put her in trouble and her pension will be cut down(shes not paying tax for the house we renting).
we are going to open a joint account soon,my question is will that be a problem and what should we provide DIAC?

Question two: Do we need to provide the marriage certificate again?since we provided it for first stage visa

Question Three:about the original overseas penal certificate for any country resided in for 12months and i have in Australia,is it that same as the National Police certificate?

Question four:I received a statutory declaration form one for me and another for spouse and the last bit of it reads:

i also provide the details(including occupation, address and contact telephone numbers)of the following two person
1................................................. ........... 2........................................

who have agreed to provide a verbal or written declaration on request regarding the nature of my relationship.

my question is should these people fill in the declaration form 888 or not?
and can we use the same people on our declaration forms?

your responses will be highly appreciated.

Thank you

Chanti, what specifically did they ask you for? I tried to find an example of the letter you would have gotten but was unable to with a quick Google search.

There's a thread at the top of the forum on second stage visas - you could perhaps look through some of the most recent pages of posts and see if anything there is helpful.

I'd do some more research for you but I'm on my way to bed... after midnight here in the good ol' US of A. Post back if you need more help.

I think the same person can do the Form 888 or stat dec for you. But of course now the form or stat dec need to be updated. This is because you are onshore now and stat dec cannot be "older" than 6 weeks. And I think it is fine if you get someone else to do the form and stat dec this time.

I don't have a very good answer for Q1 but I think it's good to ask your landlady to write a stat dec if she is willing to using form 888 to clarify that you two live together. Opening joint bank account is good it can show the financial commitment but unfortunately it's too new it may not have much to show DIAC other evidences may be required to strengthen your case.

Q2 no

Q3 a AFP police check is required for the applicant and any police check of the country where the applicant has lived for 12 months for the last 2 years. AFP police check is required for the sponsor if there's a underage dependent. If not police check is not necessary.

Q4 they don't have to be the same people. They don't need to do a form 888 if you provide their detail on that page. But if you want to use the same people that's fine too.

2nd stage partner visa evidence of lease

I have a similar question,
I am trying to put through evidence of myself and my partner renting the same property together for the last two years.
I live with my boyfriend, and our lease expired in September 2012 on paper, but it continued and unofficially got renewed as we still continue to live in the same place but never got new paper work to show the extension of the date living there till now.

My question is will getting a letter written from out landlord to say we still both live there and our lease was continued from sept 2012 enough proof or do we need to get the actual rental lease paper work drawn up again to show this proof?

Hi, I ended up NOT submitting any rental receipts or lease because we couldn't get any,but my visa was granted after 2months, we didn't get any call from case officer or even notification that I have been allocated case officer .
Just submit letters/evelopes of your names with same address, I did that.
Good luck
