Smile where to go and why ??

Hi All,

I am new to this forum. Plus i have just started my immigration procedures.

But i was wondering which sate or territory to choose to immigrate to and why as i am working as a planning and scheduling engineer in the construction field.

If someone has a useful experience for me, please advise ASAP.

Cheers,
Kogy

The global economic crisis will no doubt affect more construction projects than it already has [particularly those of a tourism or non essential type] but the government is hell bent on racking up debt in attempting to have government projects of various nature financed in order to help maintain employment levels.

You'll obviously always find most constant work about capitals/regions with most population and so Perth/WA, and east coast states are going to offer most opportunities and you'll always have major companies undertaking projects in more remote areas.

I think with getting work likely to be a priority and it harder to come by for some time, having a look at construction industry work/positions demand would be what I would use as a location determiner.

Thanks Wanderer for your quick reply.

I have that you are now staying in oz, so if you can help just in configuring the status now there for the construction firm especially at this global crisis.

Cheers,
Kogy

There's no one firm and no specific status and just as with people competing for positions when there is less employment, so companies will have to be more competitive in seeking work when there is less.

If you have an intent to immigrate here with a view to finding work then it'll obviously pay you to do a bit of research identifying companies that are active in construction and that you might seek work with - bit of googling may help you.
