Talking When will I hear anything?

Hey all

Well my partner was finally able to apply for his 309 visa through the London office. My birth certificate got lost in the post for 2 whole months which delayed him applying!!!

We applied on the 2nd July, the money was taken from our accounts on the 4th July. On the 20th July some documents were sent back to us but we haven't heard anything since then.

Any idea how long it could be until we are asked to do the medical and police checks? He needs to get a police check from Spain as he lived over there for a couple of years and we are worried that might take weeks to process. We don't want to slow down the application being approved.

If anyone has any ideas of how long this part takes, I'd love to hear from you... Also, is it still 8-9 month waiting time for approvals from the London office??

Cheers!

Yep, that's still about what London is seeing AFAIK. I think London doesn't ask for meds until months in, so you've got a while to wait.

Hi there, most london applicants will be assigned a CO around the 2 week mark. Once a CO is assigned you will get correspondance from them requesting further info if applicable and they will give you a timeframe to submit your police and medical. We were given 28 days to do the medical but others were asked to wait 3 months. Its strange you havent heard anything, have you checked your spam email?

8-9 is the current processing time.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for all this info. I just checked my spam folder on the email address we supplied and there was nothing there.

@kmarees1986 did you normally hear from your London case officer by email or post?

I thought it was a good sign that they sent some documents back to us but I am worried if they only give us a 28 day time frame to submit police and medical checks. I've lived in Spain during August and everyone is in holiday mode and it takes forever to get anything done...

It was via email through our migration agent. Other london applicants also heard from their CO around 14 days after submitting. Perhaps the turnaround has slowed down or your CO does things a little different.

No harm in calling the EPC (european processing centre) to see if you should have recieved communication. Its just the number listed for Australia House in London.

It generally IS a good sign if they send documents back - generally means they're done looking at that aspect of your application. Hope you get everything else sorted soon (and thanks for giving better info, kmarees! I was hoping you'd see this. )

Good luck, OP!
