skilled indpendent subclass 136

hi !! I have applied for the skilled independent visa subclass 136 on 30 Aug 2007 they asked me to do the medical & police check on Jan 2009 & I did them, so what is the time expected to receive my visa as they announced that there is a limited number of visas & will granted to those who are in the critical list & sponsored people . what about the independent who are waiting for 22 months now???? also any body else under this kind of visa i hope you Participate this subject if you received your visa or waiting like me.

Unfortunately it would seem that the time being taken is a consequence of changes that immigration were making to their department structure throughout late 2007 and into 2008, that also likely to have been somewhat affected by a change of government at end of 2007.

Now because of economics globally and here in Australia there have also been priority changes both right at start of this year and then again in March and again that could be causing the delay in processing of some visas - in the sticky thread #4 you'll see departmental comments and there's also FAQ covering most situations.

Not a lot that can be done other than to keep fingers crossed your application gets to top of list again before too long.

Hello ginathabet, I read through all the posts on this site and including the thread where we stated basic info about the applications. I, myself have written to Wanderer asking almost the same question as you did and that is, what is the opinion about when my application will be finalized. I applied on 20 August 2007, submitted all the paperwork, including medical and caracter check on December 2008. My wife did her IELTS and the result was submitted in March, when we were requested to udergo additional medical, which we submitted in May 2009. Since than nothing. I even contacted my CO to get feedback from him about status of my application, and I was told that they are waiting for the HOC decition on my medical. To make it easier for you we are in the same shoes as you are. Still waiting...... God knows for how long more. I forgot to mention, I applied for 136, au sponsored visa, my skill was on the CSL until March 2009 and was taken off. I guess all these changes, as Wanderes said are affecting the decision process of our applications. Hang in there. Lets keep in touch and go through this together. I'll keep my fingers cross for you. Cheers!!!

Keeping fingers crossed Gina is just a form of saying we have in Australia and maybe other countries where english is native language - meaning that it will gopefully bring good luck, bit like having a lucky charm.

So I just mean with good luck may your application again be getting processed.
