Bridging visa for 2nd WHV

Hi everybody, my first WHV expires on the 23th of September this year. I've done my 88 days of farmwork and applied for the 2nd WHV. They send me an email that sais that they granted a bridging visa WA class 010. What does this visa mean??

It means that they're reviewing your application and if they take longer than the 23rd September (when your current visa expires) then the bridging visa will come into effect so you can stay in Australia legally until they give you a decision on your 2nd year WHV.

If you don't get a decision before the end of your current visa and you start your bridging visa then make sure you abide by the rules of the bridging visa which are different to your current WHV.

If they need them, they'll ask for them

Don't worry too much, I went through the same thing. Mine took almost 3 months to come through.

Just make sure you've got evidence of your regional work (payslips, bank statements etc) so you've got them in case they ask you for them.

Best of luck

Yeah, I think processing times have gone up a bit, but if you've applied now I'm sure there will be a decision before September! I actually got my visa grant email before the riding visa grant email.
