Cost of Visas going up 20%?

I just heard that some visas are going up in price by 20% on July 1, 2009. Is this true?

New visa fees are shown on , a form on link from Department of Immigration & Citizenship under News.

The old saying no news is good news hold true in this instance it seems.
You would need to compare new fees to old to see what % increases are but just glancing at the GSM 175:
New fee is $2525 think it said
Old fee has been around $2105

And so yes, that's about 20%

Annual increases are usually adjusted in regard to inflation which is way below that and I'd suggest that the government has also taken into account the reduced throughput [numbers of applications processed annually].
They will still have much the same numbers of employees and overhead costs to be met and so a lesser number pay a bit more seems to be the situation.

With tax revenues down, I imagine the government is trying to make money anyway they can.

I wonder at what point do people change their decision to migrate to Australia because of the visa costs.
