Skilled employment assessment

Hi all

The SkillSelect booklet states that the Qualification assesment authority may assess the skilled employment as well. My query is whether is it better to get the skilled employment assessed along with the assessment of skills or just only to get the skills assessed.

I wonder that DIAC has given the option to the applicant to get the Skilled Employment Assessed. Why anyone would spend extra amount to get employment assessed?

Please reply if is it suggested to do so.

Thank you.

Hello,
As I underwent skilled assessment I will speak from my own experience. The skills assessment includes 2 steps:
1. Qualification assessment
2. Employment assessment
and not just one of these two steps. They evaluate whether you have the relevant qualification for the occupation you claim AND whether your emplyment experience so far suits this occupation as well.
I have no idea where you have read that the skilled assessment includes only qualification but this is what I know. You don't "choose".

Hi Maria

Thanks for your reply. The assessment authority in my case is Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia. They have 3 packages, one is only skills assessment, second is only skilled employment assessment and the third is both skills & employment assessment combined. (Source: Fees & processing times)

Isn't it confusing enough?

I looked at the link you've posted and at another one - and I really think you need the combined assessment.
In order to be sure my advice is to call the organisation or contact them by email and ask which package exactly is for migrating purpose to Australia. Then you will be sure what to do.
Have you completed IELTS and achieved the needed result for the assessment?
Good luck!

Could any senior member like Mark Northam give their input in this regard?

Responses are awaited. I'd be obliged if any senior member could shed light on the matter.

Hi, Maria,
I recently submitted my combined PASA assessment as well to the Australian Accounting Institute and await the outcome of my assessment, come 11th of Sept.(that's according to the projected completion date on their website).

I would like to know what next to do should it come out successfully?

Best Regards
