What do you think? (my application stuff, help PLEASE!)

O.k, o.k, so I know you are not case officers, but I really wanted your (fellow Australia Forum Members) opinion on my case, maybe compared to yours and tell me what you think. I'll be as brief as possible.

Besides the obvious identifying documents (along with my university transcrips from Australia), we have:

My lease agreement which prooves I was at the address

Over 1.5 (bank statements, tax documents) years worth of correspondence that prooves my BF was living with me

--Explained the problem, in a statement, that we had a roomate until 2007 who moved out, didn't fix the lease OR the bills so we were stuck with his name on a whole bunch of stuff, also that this is the reason why NEITHER of my or my BF's names are on bills (the guy is a JERK who I CANNOT contact to write a statement either). This, im worried will be our biggest issue. Can't they check immigration records to back up our story that the roomate left?

The lease agreement/bond letter returning the bond money under ONLY my and my BF's name and not the other roomate (shows the jerk wasnt living with us anymore).

Both of us have 1.5 years of itemized bank statements showing paying bills, utilities, that i payed for petrol for his car since i didnt drive, groceries, rent, travel, gifts etc. (100 pages worth baby, booya! heehee)

Itemized phone bills to show i called EVERYDAY when i was in the states without him (including a bill to proove the number, and my BF's business card to show i called him at work)

Evidence of a recently opened bank account (along with an explanation that we could not share an account while i was in australia since my parents we supprting me and i was not working)

7 Statutory Declarations, including from my BF's mother, grandmother and sister, along with friends (one of whom we took care of for two weeks when she broke her foot so she can garantee we shared a room etc)

Plane tickets (two sets, itineraries including originals)
hotel bookings/dinners
concert tickets
cards and letters written by him to me, including a card that came with the flowers he sent me in the states on Valentines day
cards and letters written by his family to me

Invitations to: engagement, christening of step-brother baby, secret santa christmas party (e-mail)

A thank you card addressed to both of us for coming to wedding

Evidence that he traveled to the States to be with me for 3 months (until his visa ran out) to investigate the possibility of him living in Canada, and to support me through my dad's cancer.

Facebook and e-mail screenshots to show communication

Explainations on: why we do not have many things addressed to both of us, since we always got invited to things by text message, facebook etc (you know how it is)

Pictures (including us with each others mothers and family)

Our own stat decs

Readiness for ANY interview question

Ummmmmmmmmmmm....................................

Oh yeah, last issue--i only JUST found out (and I am SO ANGRY) that my bank statements, for both cards, dont show my actual former address since they were american accounts. One shows my address here in the staes, which is fine, but the other shows my first address in australia. I always assumed that they were being sent to the states since i never received one, and now Lo! My lease agreement shows otherwise though...you think that's ok as long as i explain it.

ok, I think that it.

I have worked really hard to explain any issues--i even made a big deal of saying that my statements are in USD$ and not AUD$.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for reading this far if you have. Unfortunatly i am finding it difficult to get help here through my local immi office. This forum is of HUGE help.

Thanks again, let me know what you think!

Hi elkitten

Just a thought, maybe you can get your landlord...or whoever you and your partner were renting your flat from.....to write you a stat dec stating that your other roomate moved out in 2007 and that you and your boyfriend have lived their alone ever since. Get the landlord to write the stat dec on an estate agent letterhead or put his business stamp on it or something like that if he can.

I think that seeing as though your boyfriend has been receiving mail at the same address the bills thing will probably not be a problem.

But it seems like you have heaps of evidence of your relationship so I'd say ur looking pretty good at the moment.

Best of luck with everything!

Hey Loved up!

Thank you so much for replying! The rent issue is personally my biggest worry--the problem with getting a stat dec from our estate agent is that we had massive problems changing the bond over (and hence the rental agreement) to his name because of issues with the previous roomate who moved out in 07 which i won't get into now, needless to say it wasn't pretty! =)

Like you said though, we are hoping that the correspondence he has will be enough and that the CO can check out our story by looking at immigration records. I'm also hoping that they won't balk that my bank accounts weren't being billed to my address, but i have explained it in a stat dec.

Thank you very much for your response though! As im sure you know, its just a scary/frusterating process.

Best of luck to you too!

O.k this is my last ditch effort.

Anybody else have suggestions or comments?

Anybody?

I know you are all very busy.... even just an emoticon saying yay or nay would make me feel better. heehee.

I am, in all honesty, terrified. My partner and I are saying nothng but the absolute truth... I'm scared that i don't have "That Little Piece of Paper" that will be the golden ticket. It sucks to think that someone could say no to your visa and hence denying that you love each other and have been together for over a year.

Anybody? encouragement? even an "I'm not sure but good luck"?!

A little bit of encouragement is nice in an uncertain situation. Hope you get sorted out.

Thank you!

I hope you get yours sorted too. I meant it when i said i felt bad for you. I'm a sucker for love--you two kids are getting married! you shouldn't be swamped in worry over a police cert--you should be worried whether everyone will like your reception party cake!!!

Good luck to you too.
