Hi -

The subclass 176 visa hasn't been available to apply for since July of 2012. Would suggest you visit SkillSelect and explore options there - the subclass 190 visa is roughly equivalent to the 176, however there are differences and since July 2012 the skilled visa system has operated on an invitation-based scheme.

Hope this helps -

Best,

Mark Northam

You need to start your research on the SkillSelect site mentioned in the previous post. Make sure you identify an occupation that you're qualified for that is eligible, then check out the Skills Assessment rules for that occupation and skills assessor. Then check out the regulations for state sponsorship for that occupation in the state you wish to migrate to, then check out the DIAC visa application rules and requirements. If that's too much research (as it is for many people), you may want to consider getting professional assistance from a registered migration agent.

Hope this helps -

Best,

Mark Northam
