Visitor Visa refused while PMV under assessment

Hello,

I have applied for a visitor visa after two months of applying for a prospective marriage visa and it got refused (for the tourist visa) for the following reason: " The case officer isn't satisfied that I am a genuine temporary traveler and he noted in the refusal letter that the prospective marriage visa is the appropriate visa for me to enter Australia"

My question is: Will the visitor visa refusal have any bearing on speeding my PMV?

If Not, shall I wait the 12 months (the PMV processing time) without having a chance to visit my Fiancée on a visitor visa? Or Shall I consider to reapply soon ?

For more information about by Visa refer to my previous post:
http://www.australiaforum.com/visas-...a-refusal.html

Thank you in advance,

No direct experience with this, but I highly doubt they would speed up processing of PMV because the visitor visa was refused.

As I think was suggested before your best option would be for family sponsored temporary visa (I forget the subclass) if you want to visit him before your PMV is approved.

I know it's out of the left field and not relevant to the question, but, your partner could always visit you

And how is this feeling gonna help me as long as you didn't answer the question on both posts!?!??
I prefer you focus your energy on answering the questions instead of tracking/comparing posts.
Thank you!

Same question in 2 different posts is a waste. But your visitor visa is completely independent to your PMV application. The result have no bearing on the speed in which they process your PMV application.

You can either reapply for the tourist visa (as many times as you want) or wait it out until the PMV is granted.

Have you considered getting a consult with a MARA agent to see the prospects of a new visitor visa? Would be better of than keep on paying the application fees.

Just thinking out loud here, if returning in order to get the PMV grant isn't good enough reason for them i wonder what is. Are they thinking you paid the $7k application fee just to get a visitor visa and overstay?

Yes, it is a strange logic that is applied here, but it may have to do with the applicant's overall risk profile. For certain passport holders it can be really difficult to obtain a tourist visa even with an offshore partner visa application in the system. In cases like that it may be worth looking into a family sponsored visitor visa.

What is the applicant likely to do if the partner visa is refused?

I have come across several instances of visitor visas being refused when the applicant has applied for a partner visa. One recent one is an applicant who spent some time in Australia but has never overstayed. His Australian partner is giving birth to their first child next month. He had an NZ Family Relationship Visa refused before (different partner) due to a breakdown in the relationship and left within the allotted time. Case officer even said that having to be offshore for visa grant wasn't enough incentive depart Australia after three months because of processing times. This was an application for an eVisitor (651) (UK Passport and NZ PR). I have applied for a Visitor subclass 600 under Family Sponsorship this time.

It seems it is very tough going at the moment.

The global service standards for a PMV is 75% of applications within 13 months and 90% within 17 months. Refer to the link for the global processing times: https://www.border.gov.au/about/acce...ocessing-times

This means that it may take more than 12 months or less than 12 months.

Of course you don't need to wait 12 months to see your fiancee, your fiancee can come to Lebanon to visit you during the processing times.
