Post Partner Visa Application Current Changes

Hi,

I have been reading so much about successful partner visa applications and have come across some rumors/facts that there are new changes to the partner visa. But I cannot find the information on government website.

It is true, that as of recently you cannot add to your online application anymore but have to hand in all of the required documents and evidence at once?

And is it true, that you need to hand in your police certificates at the beginning of your application now? When I thought you could wait until they asked you.

Are these true? Is there any other changes that you have heard of?

Thanks a lot

Where did you hear this?

Considering medical and police checks are only valid for 12 months and the allocation process is longer I would suggest it's crap. But immigration have been known to implement worse.

Partner visas have always been an at time of lodgement requirement. You have always been and still can add evidence afterwards but it is up to the case officer if they accept anything dated after you lodge as evidence.

A case officer can make a decision based on the documentation you have provided and is not required to ask for additional documentation, so it is always recommended that you have everything ready when you apply. There have been cases recently with employer sponsored visas where applications have been refused immediately because no supporting documentation was provided with the application. Apparently this is now also going to be applied to partner visa applications. If you meet the requirements for a partner visa, there is no real reason why you could not provide all the essential supporting evidence at the time of lodgement.

You can do police certificates and visa medicals later on, unless previously requested.

Thank you for your helpful answers.

I guess I am just freaking out a little bit because it is such an important application and I don't know if I could get my police checks in a short amount of time.

But I am relieved that we don't need to provide these straight away.
